Based in Frankfurt/Offenbach, Germany, AJO is a musical talent of many flavours with a particularly immersive sound. His most recent release Ambedo on Mana Abundance is an ode to the deepest atmospheres of trance that captivates listeners in its ritualistic imaginary. As his other moniker Kalocain he released an EP in 2023 on Codek Records, and has an upcoming release titled Genetic Memory coming out next February 2024 on the Lithuanian label Electric Shapes. The full-scale military invasion in Ukraine and the tense political situation in Belarus forced us to leave our homes and brought us to Poland.

Straight from Warsaw where the Covid-19 has practically destroyed the night culture in the usual sense for us we are building an underground music scene right now.

Travelling through space, they looked out at what was below them. The planet was far away now and there was no guarantee that they might ever be able to return. Perhaps they were destined to live amongst the stars. They would become the aliens they once feared as they floated from realm to realm in the darkness.

There wasn't much light up here, nor sound but for the occasional chime or hum from the machine which propelled them onwards. Sometimes it were as if it was trying to communicate with them, perhaps to let them know that they were not all alone.

Terra Magica Rec. are set to release a record from Grischerr called 'Blue Gem Cavalcade'. It's a special, pensive collection of deep futuristic sounds paired with remixes from some stellar producers. The Heap remix was our pick of the bunch.

Die Orakel Radio Transmission #01/04

Die Orakel is a Frankfurt based music platform run by Oliver Hafenbauer.

Die Orakel (Engl. the oracles) might not know it all but has the capacity to observe and sense it: Oliver Hafenbauer's imprint operates as an experimental field for electronic music on the playfully indecisive end where it exceeds genre-specificity to focus on tunes that function beyond. This is not to say that there are no four-to-the-floor productions. The Frankfurt-based label features contributions by artists like Reptant, Poly Chain, Edward, Roman Flügel, upsammy or O-Wells, all known as dance floor doyens. The releases yet encompass what can slip the attention on a traditional dance label. Uplifting and downtempo appear here as two categories that do not exclude each other. The visual representation of the venture is undertaken by Stefan Haag and label boss Oliver Hafenbauer himself, who have a clear approach to communicating Die Orakel’s standards.
