Nervous Horizon are back with the second in a series of quick-fire EP releases, this time in the form of Ehua’s ‘Aquamarine’ — her first EP proper for the label after contributing a track (‘Meteora’) to 2019’s ‘NH Vol.3’ compilation.

Following hot on the heels of SIM’s dancehall-inflected ‘Terminate’ EP, ‘Aquamarine’ details six new tracks inspired by both the colour and motion of water. With tempos ranging from 95-140bpm, Ehua also uses custom made percussive samples and original vocals — spoken thoughts in reversed Italian on ‘Black’ — to harness different motions and states, collecting thoughts on organisms, frequencies and vibrations that we might not be aware of or perceive.

These ideas and concepts take shape via a rich and experimental, six-track workflow that moves between the dark, sludgy broken-beats of ‘Xantho’ through to the unnerving, drone techno of ‘Diatom’ — a track written to mirror the darkest depths of the ocean.

As he entered the room onlookers watched him with beady eyes, they stared him down and took him in with menace and malice lingering in the air. This was not a safe space, not a place one might choose to spend much time or be caught lingering. However, whilst he was here he would not fear their hateful gaze for this was to be where he left it all behind as free as a bird. He was in step mode now, eagerly walking forwards into the light and as he stood perched in the centre of the room he began to move. 

Glimmerman is set to release a new EP on First Second Label, this one is a rock steady affair for the heads down dancers and the discerning listener. This record sits somewhere between bass, techno and dancehall - so genre that as you feel fit.

Gama is a dreamy sound collage that invites the listener to get lost in reverie from its very first track. Broken rhythms and raw electronic percs will allow the dancer to keep their feet on the ground while losing their sense of time.

Sumac presents three exclusive tracks from label founders DJ Plead, Jon Watts and T.Morimoto. This is the first in a series of releases dedicated to reworked material from Utility's singular 2019 release Nexus Destiny (SU005).

DJ Plead extends 'Flooot' into a hypnotic 140BPM journey; Jon Watts contextualises 'Vert Bend' against his signature hard-as-nails electro template; and T.Morimoto bends '96Khz Rapture' + 'Cloudy Choir' into a heady psychedelic mix.

Nexus Destiny is an experiment in preset aesthetics conceived by Utility (T.Morimoto and Austin Buckett) as equal parts sonic readymade, machine/human collaboration, ambient soundtrack and sample pack for fellow producers.

The first single from Loraine James' new album 'Reflection' is a solo introduction and a reset. It's a direct song called Simple Stuff vocalled directly and diaristically by Loraine, a minimal, gentle plea to be treated equally (as a black, queer woman) over criss-crossing drums. Loraine's vocals dissolve into distortion and fx's as if they are getting lost and then heard again.

Loraine James, Simple Stuff

Betas is a DJ/producer from Buenos Aires, Argentina. 
His music drives on a rhythmic euphoric house, techno and breakbeat to create trippy suspense-filled, joyful dancefloor moments.
His productions reflects its sense as well, releasing on Muy Muy Limited, Vista Recordings, LPZ, remixes for DJs Pareja and Lupe. Resident Advisor called his most recent release a “crushing club stomper that hits the sweet spot between jungle, techno and noisy electronics”.
A mainstay of Buenos Aires's underground parties and queer spaces including the Buenos Aires Pride Parade, Fun Fun, Loca, Missa, Syncro, and Leftclub, he has also performed across Europe in clubs and on radio.
His next release is a collaboration with Tom Tom Clubber on Maximum Airtime.
