Hey peeps,

here's my 3-hour closing set at ORPHIC. This was a really special one for me as I've been going to the Orphic parties quite a bit. From the first time visiting I wanted to play here. The crowd and vibe at these parties is zero to none, and the organisation is a lovely group of people with a very community-based mindset. 

I wanted to do something special, and I think you can hear that in this set. It's a very hypnotic and heavy set, ranging from very emotive to heavy dark tracks, with a lot of layering going on. There's a few small moments that are slightly messy as I was constantly playing with multiple decks at once, but that makes it human ;). The recording cut out at 2:50:00, so I edited the last few tracks in to ensure a safe landing after 3 hours. 

Hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did playing this.

I am truly excited to have Diepzeebeest involved in this series. From the moment I first heard their sound, I was immediately captivated. Their latest release on Float is a perfect example of why they deserve this spot and why I believe everyone should hear their music.

Diepzeebeest loves to explore their inner experience, diving deep into uncomfortable feelings and capturing them in their productions. This process is often subconscious, unfolding while they record sounds from their hardware and software instruments. Turning these recordings into tracks then becomes more of a curation, where meaning is consciously discovered. When approaching the recording for Oefenmeesters Set The Mood, they envisioned it as an introduction to the introspective and driving techno they gravitate toward. The set hints at the depths to come while remaining inviting enough for listeners to ease in. As a final track, they chose a slight outlier—a last moment to surface and breathe before the next set takes the audience even deeper, eyes closed, letting go.
