Wir freuen uns sehr euch mal wieder eine unserer Lieblingsbekannschaften des Jahres zu präsentieren. Sein Sound ist verträumt und antreibend, genau der Sound den wir in diesen Tagen brauchen - er ist so warm wie seine Worte:

Nostalgische Rückblicke, jetzt wo das Jahr sich wieder zum Ende neigt. Ein Jahr mit viel Tohuwabohu und Ups and Downs - genauso wie Momente, welche mich positiv stimmen, beruhigen, schlicht einfach Spaß machen. Und ich freue mich wie das Alpaca im Bild wenn ich an den Sommer denke, wo die Welt vorübergehend in Teilaspekten wieder normaler lief und Festivals und Partys zu vielen schönen Bekanntschaften führten! So unter anderem auch die 60 Zoll Crew, die mich eigeladen hat etwas in ihre Setreihe rein zu sneaken! So kann ich immerhin einen kleinen Teil zurückgeben, nachdem ihr auf dem Lichtalben Festival dafür gesorgt habt, dass eine großartige Wohlfühl-Oase geschaffen wurde auf welcher ich Tage hätte verbringen können! (Ganz zu schweigen von eurem Auftreten und den schönen Gesprächen vor und hinter der Bar! <3) Danke dafür, Danke für die Einladung und auf ein hoffentlich baldiges Wiedersehen!

I believe in style

Here is the recording of my live from last week in the cinema of Varallo. This time is not donwtempo (I don't know what genre to define it as) and it is the live soundtrack for a super8 film: a van trip in ‘77 between my valley, Valsesia, and Pakistan. Here I share only the music and I believe, even if it is built on the film, you can also just listen to it. Let everyone make their own journey with their own imagination.

Thanks to the association Superottimisti from Turin for commissioning me to do the work and for restoring and sharing the film.

There were days I didn’t go out
and days I couldn’t remember.

Sometimes I sat at my desk
watching the trees outside blooming,
as if we had nothing in common.

They had the sun,
I had the sun through a window.

They were beginning,
I was unsure what I was.

after an early drink
I decided to get them —
alive and understated,
aware they were not
the most beautiful flowers
yet reassuringly strong.

I don’t know how they gave
the illusion of order.

One that was impossible to find
talking to friends, lovers, old colleagues;
they did not talk back. The tulips.

They merely filled the room,
their purpose being to be loved
for what they were, entirely
by how I saw them. No struggle
or epiphany. No work.

And so I did. I loved them.
I was envious I could not be them.
Simple and so sudden. In a vase.

Das versunkene Meer Teil 4 - Tauchen im Treibsand

„The sunken sea“ ist eine Mixserie, mit welcher Rolandson erneut deutlich macht, das er einer der Geschichtenerzähler ist, welcher sich nicht scheut unsere Erwartungen über Bord zu werfen und unsere Wahrnehmung auf eine Probe zu stellen. Mit einer ultraleicht anmutenden Feinfühligkeit fädeln sich  verspulte Tracks und verborgene Klang-Juwelen hintereinander auf und verweben sich letztendlich zu einem rolandschen Klangteppich, der Geheimnisse birgt aber auch einige von ihnen frei gibt. Jedes dieser Geheimnisse entspringt einem Momentum, einem Wendepunkt in der Wahrnehmung zwischen Sys- und Diastole, einem Schnittpunkt der Gezeiten in Raum und Zeit gleichbedeutend -  dieser mikroskopisch, für viele weder im erweiterten Bewusstseinszustand noch im Moment des Wissens, wirklich kaum wahrnehmbare Punkt ist der Moment, in welchem das Meer gesunken ist. 

Die Mix-Serie „Das versunkene Meer“ kommt einer verlangsamten Aufzeichnung von vielen Momenten gleich. „Diving in the quicksand - Tauchen im Treibsand“ ist die nunmehr 4te Aufzeichnung innerhalb dieser Serie, zu welcher Rolandson uns folgende Worte mitgibt: „Das Wasser, durch Wellen getrieben, will hin zum Meer. Der Fluss, wild - Dein Herz, es tost. Das Wasser, klar - Deine Sehnsucht, dich treibt. Der Fluss dich rastlos weiß - Dein Herz nicht stirbt, wenn es auf Reisen geht. Wer den Fluss versteht, weiß wie das Leben und nicht die Zeit vergeht.“
