Having shared edit duties on Universal Cave’s 10th release, Philadelphia duo Superprince take the reins solo for UC011 with four slices of Philly rework heat.
From the soulful Caribbean funk of ‘Mama’ to the syupy, slo-mo boogie of ‘Rose’, the A side is a sublime double header of slow jams to kick off the EP.
On the B side, Superprince picks up the pace with delicious, private press disco for the dancefloor in the form of ‘Come To Me’, before the dubbed-out balearic bliss of ‘Buy You A Dream’ closes out the affair with a chuggier and cheekier high note.

Amsterdam based Chris Taylor, the mind behind Aan Zee may not be a familiar name to some, but his unique sound, we hope, will become something you will return to time and time again. 

Channelling the choicest ingredients from the galaxies of left-field Disco, library nuggets, lo-fi Afrobeat jams and beyond 'Persona / Funny berber' & 'Vacation' are strange beasts. Aimed squarely at the dance-floor but not obvious, blatant or cheap these deep sound excursions will tweak the more esoterically minded into action. The fact that Taylor is a multi-instrumentalist is evident, the sheer sonic tapestry that spreads across both cuts will engulf the ear-drums of the adventurous and stimulate the most intrepid of feet. These cuts are not easy to pin down or pigeon-hole, they are long-form exercises in interstellar dance music that is truly on the cosmic threshold. Following on from previous outings courtesy of Skatebård, Kito Jempere, Miskotom, Les Crocodiles & more, Pleasure Wave is the perfect home for the free-spirited and adventurous Aan Zee project, kindred spirits you might say.
