Skylark - Neons

West Coast drum and bass surgeon CRIMES! makes his debut on the label with a pair of machine funk stunners that represent the high caliber vibe that Human Imprint represents.

First on deck is the title track “Running” featuring a cinematic intro that descends into a fluttering soundscape of clinical percussion, ice cold synth stabs and a decidedly fresh footwork vibe. Rounding out the EP is “Listen” with it’s dancefloor buffet of chugging breaks, gnarly subsonics and more expertly tweaked futurism vibes.

Starting things off is the IMAX level / widescreen sonic range of “The Void” with it’ massive cinematic intro, churning low end and surgical future funk beats. Truly epic sound design really pulls this track together to form something very special. Following is the cybernetic step of “Wither” which continues the audio assault with high grade sound design and a super punchy drum and bass workout. Rounding out the EP is “Glass Dunes” with a compelling synth lead intro that morphs into an extremely clean roller with crisp percussion, tight edits and classic neuro dnb vibes. Once again Omen has delivered a tasty soundtrack from the far flung future.
