Different Sound - Release / Tracks  2017

British producer wAFF has been making waves in recent years, reflecting on a diligent 2015 spent playing across the likes of Europe, Africa, Asia and the States, when not making routine appearances at Paradise, Ibiza. As a producer he’s dropped several lauded releases on Jamie Jones’ Hot Creations imprint, not to mention Matthias Tanzmann’s Moon Harbour and Sven Väth’s Cocoon, with his next outing landing on renowned Swedish label Drumcode run by techno titan Adam Beyer.

Laying down hard hitting kicks from the off, ‘Holographic’ churns out an undulating synth combined with shuffling hats and a cavernous low-end, before ‘VibrationZ’ employs a low-slung groove fashioned from a sultry bassline, floating chords and sinister vocal. Tying it together, ‘Syncronistic’ is on a more heads down tip with whirring atmospherics, crunchy snares and subtle 303 squelches for a lengthy and mesmerising piece of production.

Different Sound  welcome to Andres Gil this time announcing a special, more experimental edition of underground Techno . Andres makes his full debut with Immerse / Handmade cleverly noding to the dark side. Andres has a proven track record of successful releases with FLASH Recordings  , Kaputt  and  Elevate and continues to excite us with his depth of production and sharp tech edge . Andres strart this ep with HANDMADE barking chords and a perfect rolling build up tension, reaching progressively to the peak. Andres utilises each element of the track to devastating effect creating a deep, evolving techno monster here . IMMERSE start us off with a raw low bass before a hypnotizing high piched synth stab takes action is laced with discordant riffs and a distinct detuned stab enhancing the haunted atmospherics with effect clap dark and stabbed chops indulge you to follow the rhythm while spread closed hithats play graciously all elements together cavernous bass and marching drums set the tone while a warm tech synth fills in and out. Echoing notes knit a serious groove and show us Andres acute eye to production detail.

The X Vinyl Series continues with label head Florian Meindl at the helm with the upcoming release Metaphysics. Synonymous with deep, dark techno, Florian does not disappoint with this 4 track EP, enlisting in demand producer and Rabe label boss Denise Rabe on remixing duties. Playing live with his Modular Synth set up, Florian began working on the concept for what would become these three original tracks while playing shows over the last month. The live jam character can clearly be felt in the first two tracks Metaphysics and Holomorphic Function. Florians original Bell's Theorem has a deep melodic structure. With Denise Rabes interpretation, the track is contorted through some serious distortion pedals and broken beat to match her dark take on the synth line. The outcome is an impressive piece for one of those never ending nights in concrete walled rooms with oversized loudspeakers.
