Some tracks which involve a lot of live Kaoss Pad or keyboard twiddling.  These will probably change when/if I get time to re-record them with a better performance.

Korg DS-10 live performances (first tries)

Cars - a Korg DS-10 cover of the Gary Numan song.  Purists may be disappointed at about 2:05 into the song, or maybe I should say more disappointed.  :-)

Electrode - Electro was a big part of my early music influences, so I had to try to make some myself!

Created entirely on the Korg DS-10 cart for the Nintendo DS.  No effects or EQ applied; sequenced live to allow track mutes and a few seconds of KP wiggling near the end of the song.

Hot Pursuit - cue helicopter shot across a bay towards an American city in the late '70s... big clunky cars, sports coats worn over turtlenecks, dodgy haircuts, .38 specials in shoulder holsters... a theme tune for a cop show that never existed.

Sequenced live on the original Korg DS-10 to allow soloing with the Kaoss Pad.  No EQ or effects other than those in the DS-10 were used.

The track has been tweaked a bit since this recording, I need to get a new performance up at some stage.

Hot Pursuit - Korg DS-10

"Naked" Korg DS-10 track with lots of live performance in it.I'm pretty happy with some of the patterns and sounds, less sure about the performance.   There's a video of this performance - if you'd like to see it, hit the YouTube link in my profile.

No other synths or effects used in this - recorded into the mic input of a Lexicon Lambda using Reaper, trimmed and uploaded as FLAC.

A cover of a Kraftwerk track that I think manages to get some of the same sonic mood going as the original.  The live (DS touchpad) keyboard playing is sometimes painful (at that time I was on medication that messed up my typing and general dexterity) - and I need to re-perform the whole thing, it's just a question of making a better job of it!   I wish my DS-10 keyboard skills approached those of Anthony Seeha... =:^/

Head Kick

This started as an attempt to get some of the feel of Herbie Hancock's "Rockit", but ended up more as an improvisation somewhat anchored by the main Rockit theme.  Just a Korg DS-10, no external effects or EQ.

I think that the improvisation is interesting as an exploration of what can be done live with the DS-10 Kaoss Pad, but this performance is not the best.  I will re-record it when i get some free time.

Patterns of Air Movement

Nerd with a music obsession.  Poor keyboardist, good sound designer.  Working to improve at both before my hearing goes further downhill.

Current goal: Big sounds from small machines.  All tracks have been made on a Nintendo DS with the Korg DS-10 and DS-10+ cartridges.  No outboard effects or EQ have been used.

Despite the choice of synth, I do not make chiptunes.  I grew up listening to Kraftwerk, Jean_Michel Jarre, W. Carlos, King Crimson, early Tomita, Brian Eno and Robert Fripp.  My influences are a lot wider now, but the tunes do show my musical history.  I love Jungle/DnB, and although I'm not involved in that scene I respect the skills and commitment of those who are.

Many of the tracks here are sketches which are waiting for me to get back some creativity to finish properly.  If you'd like to hear my best tracks, please listen to:

Electrode - it's one of the first proper tracks I made and I'm fairly happy with it as a tribute to electro and scratching.

Hot Pursuit - theme tune to an imaginary cop show, done at about the same time as Electrode.  First proper Kaoss Pad melodic solo I recorded.  I think it's fun.

Deeper - contains the best groove I've made on the DS-10, and Matrixsynth thought it was "awesome".   :-)

Rockit - a bit of improv anchored by the Herbie Hancock tune themes.  Happy with the sounds I got.  Improv needs to be tighter.

Zürich Connection - something I was happy with at the time, but other people not so much.  Please leave comments saying what you don't like about it so that I can improve!
