Joaquin Poletti aka jxxxo, is a DJ and Producer born in San Martín, province of Buenos Aires, who belongs to the record label ROOM(arg). His first influences in electronic music came with EDM at the age of 13. Over time, he got to know clubs and DJs of different musical styles that marked him to this day when it comes to mixing. In his sessions you can find old school, jungle, tribal, house and hardgroove sounds. At the age of 21, he began to enter the world of production, where to this day he released on labels such as Room (arg), Dynamic Records, Trucking Records, Nacht Sieger, Survival Alliance, among others. His productions have the support of Marron, Laura van Hal, Amoral, Bw, Stier.x, Dxrvo, Lea Occhi, Ket Robinson, TY, among others...

Pino started djing during his teens, with his father as the duo Bone X Zone. Currently based in Berlin he produces and djs as a solo artist under the alias of Pino Peña, and in a duo with Mitchell Jones aka Jones&Roth. The sound of his productions and sets always varies across genres, offering elements from techno, house and breaks while being inspired by punk, psychedelic and garage rock, jazz, hiphop and much more! He has released on labels like Glukkon Records, Entourage Concept, Lo Fidelity aswell as on the constantly growing Schimmer Records, where he’s also a resident. Expect more to come from him soon, new VA and solo releases and future output on his newly launched Label W133!

▻ You are originally from Munich, and now you live in Berlin, what brought you there?

I moved to Berlin for my masters but I loved the city since I was a child. Together with my passion for techno it just made sense to move there.

▻ Where did you have your last gig and how was it?

My last gig was Anomalie Art Club in Berlin for a privat event. It was fun but I‘m looking forward to play a clubnight someday. 

▻ You produce your own music in the meantime, how do you always start there and with what equipment do you have for it at the start?

I start with the kick and bassline, add a synth and fill the tracks with drums. I use an analog four a tr8s and ableton live to make my music. 

▻ What's on your musical agenda for 2023?

Finishing my first EP.

▻ I heard you go out a lot, what are your favorite clubs?

Berghain, RSO and ELSE.
