Luke Slater is back as Planetary Assault Systems with another iconic EP titled ‘Devotion’. As a trailblazer in techno with anticipation ahead of every release, Slater appoints complementary scene Truncate and Barker for the remixes.

‘Devotion’ opens the EP with what can only be described as raw drum machine psychosis. Slater whips up multiple, classic tom-based 909 sequences with impact - he keeps things straight to the point before introducing the defining vocal sample. Truncate remixes the track by stripping it down to its bare essentials and emphasizing the rumbling kicks. He also gives the track his own flare of groove elements that build stylistic progression throughout the track.

Adroit Recordings remain integral proponents of the artistic culture that propels's Zurich's ever-expanding Techno scene. A multi-disciplinary operation - the label seeks to shed light on the myriad facets that add colour and character to milieu. Be it graphics, painting, podcasts or records - the output remains unique, high quality and expressive.

Previous releases on the label have taken the shape of VAs and artist EPs with contributors including Nur Jaber, Tapefeed, Maiameia and Paula Temple and now - the next instalment comes from fellow Zurich resident Jacom backed up with masterful remixes from Matrixxman and Joton.  

'Take A Walk' kicks things off with a vibrant and pacy vibe. Technical drum work, textures and dubby jabs pepper a kinetic dance floor track. Claps, hats and stabs drop in and out while earworm sonics growl with an intensity that doesn't let up. 

Matrixxman - a Berlin stalwart who needs no introduction - then follows up with a reverberated and foggy take on the original. Hat's slap off concrete walls as a well crafted kick keeps things pinned to the floor. Rubbery percussion and an urgent stab develop across a heady and atmospheric rework before 'Sinking' blends razor sharp tones with a galloping shuffle. 

Moving between tightly packed chapters, the track powers along to hypnotising effect before Joton finishes things up with an expansive remix. Careful stereo mapping renders a deep sense of space as tones are gently bent up and down bringing a varied and effective batch of club tools to a close.

Welcoming Diffuse as the 16th guest on the inTension Podcast!

Diffuse is a DJ/ Producer from Cluj-Napoca, Romania. He stepped into the local techno scene in 2014 as an avid pure techno tracks curator, that were soon to be heard in his sets. Diffuse took Romania by rhythmical assault, playing for Level0 (event that he owns) and Bios - and also, internationally, playing alongside headliners at Warehouse Techno Rush in London, UK.

Recently, Diffuse focused on a digital, online reroute. He contributed to the online techno ecosystem by playing his industrial sets for Phever.Ie Radio, Dublin; Dava Exclusive Mixes, Romania; RITM Podcast, Hamburg; Techno Diatom Podcast, Romania and Novole Radio Show, Athens - all with the support of Advanced Booking Agency, Dublin, Ireland, which Diffuse is a part of. The upfront and sharp character of his pure industrial techno sound, caught the attention on a rather european level. He successfully succeeded to bring together the elements of his persona in his latest EP, “Physics” containing the tracks “Liquid Darkness” and “Inverse Mechanics”.

Diffuse’s inspiration comes, primarily, from the Richie Hawtin’s minimal techno and Detroit techno, Dubfire, Chris Liebing, Troy Pierce, Magda and Florian Meindl. He grew up with minimal techno sounds, but expanded - as one should - choosing his path and becoming a blueprint in the local industrial, underground techno scene.
