When I came to London last year to join fabric and head the A&R for the artist led label Houndstooth I got dragged down to Hackney Wick for what was going to be a life changing techno event of the rawest level. This happening is what has inspired my series of Warehouse Sessions, where I have reached out to my favourite techno artists and asked them to get inspired by that unique thump thump betwixt concrete sounds that industrialised techno spaces always provoke and provide a suitably banging mix for my Electronic Explorations podcast series.

This week I've kicked off another round of mixes lead by Our Circula Sound man Sigha, London resident Ø [Phase], Semantica Records boss and Spanish producer Svreca, Italian producer and co-owner of Repitch Records Shapednoise (One half of Violetshaped) and finally a US producer who has released on Sandwell District & Stroboscopic Artefacts, Rrose.

December 2012 brought mixes by USA producer Skirt, UK producer Truss aka MPIA3, Stormfield & myself, Irish and Greek producers AnD and French producer Kangding Ray (his being voted EE mix from all shows in 2012)

For this month's DETECT, we welcome the Leeds based artist @kessiekessy. 

Holding down residencies at Wire Club and the monthly queer night Love Muscle, Kessie has carved out a groove within the North's vibrant dance music community - one that shows no sign of slowing down. This Summer alone has taken her even further afar with festival & club bookings from across Europe, and Kessie can be heard in the our halls for the first time in our upcoming celebration of 10 years of Monnom Black. 

Kessie has recorded an exclusive mix for our DETECT series, where she indulges in the tougher, grittier corners of her music collection, drawing from techno, EBM, post punk and grunge influences.

Introducing Thoms Traxx, a prominent figure in the Dutch techno scene. In Amsterdam, he's made a name for himself, having played at renowned venues like De School, Radion, Lofi, and festivals, such as Awakenings and Milkshake.
Thoms is a central figure in the Orphic rave organization, curating events and building a close-knit community at the forefront of Amsterdam’s underground movement.  Both as an artist and a personality, he has been captivating dancers, bookers, and music professionals across both established and new generations.  Fueled by an insatiable curiosity and unwavering vigor, Thoms Traxx stands as an ever-evolving force in the music scene.

The DifferentSound Podcast #301 welcomes Pate Jaar! Georgian dj, promoter and label boss of DifferentSound Records , Concrete Tbilisi. Pate Jaar, hailing from Tbilisi, founded DifferentSound in 2017, shaping a musical journey of his own. It sounds like Pate Jaar is a prominent figure in the electronic music scene, particularly in techno. He's not only known as a DJ but also as the founder of DifferentSound Records and Concrete Tbilisi label. His musical style seems to be diverse, ranging from groovy to hardcore techno, with a focus on creating immersive experiences for his audience. Infused with a deep passion for music, she draws inspiration from a diverse array of influences, weaving together elements of hypnotic, psychedelic, tribal, and trance genres to shape her unique identity.

Her sets serve as a medium for storytelling, crafting emotional narratives that guide through transformative and experimental realms - it becomes an exploration of emotions and an invitation to experience the unknown.

Polygonia (IO | Lowless)

Lindsey Wang, also known as Polygonia, is a versatile art and music project based in Munich, Germany. Her preceding intensive and long practice playing several instruments as well as the experiences with other art forms, inspired the artist to translate her understanding of rhythm, composition and experimentalism into the digital musical language. She creates mystic, deep and experimental soundscapes with acoustic elements in it.
Together with Dycide and MTRL she founded the Ambient and DeepTechno Label IO.
