'Red Spinel' is, a four-track EP from Chilean-born, Amsterdam-based producer Haumea. Operating on instinct, Haumea crafts primitive, sensory-rich compositions shaped by a mind attuned to nature’s rhythms, ancient symbols, and the microscopic textures of animation sound design. These neatly produced DJ tools are influenced by movement, memory, and the pull of the natural world. It underscores Haumea’s role as a craftsman of inward journeys, and Rhiza Semar’s evolution as the perfect home for such work.

Yuddy Ash is a DJ and producer based in Kyoto, Japan. Before launching his DJ career three years ago, he had spent many years exploring a wide range of music projects, including bands inspired by UK indie and shoegaze, as well as electronic units influenced by early Warp Records. These experiences continue to shape his approach today, forming a multilayered foundation beneath his sound. His style centers on a broad spectrum of techno, with no specific focus on era or subgenre. What he values most is dissonance and deviation, expressed through the intentional use of textural unease. He is drawn to subtle irregularities, such as glitches in rhythm, unexpected transitions, and unstable atmospheres that invite listeners into unfamiliar terrain. His mixes conjure distorted spaces and twisted grooves, aiming not only to move the body but to resonate on a deeper, almost cellular level. For example, this podcast mix opens with a Balinese Kecak chant, setting a primal mood that lingers throughout. Rather than relying on intensity or tempo alone, Yuddy Ash builds emotional tension through slow, deliberate layering and a keen sensitivity to space and texture. Ultimately, he seeks to blur the boundary between the real and the unreal. He leads listeners into a hypnotic space where rules dissolve and perception stretches. Layer by layer, Yuddy Ash crafts his sound and steadily emerges from the underground.
