Being created from the flames of despair and dreams that have been deferred. Hip-Hop is an undeniable force that has pushed greatness out of the dungeons that were constructed to ban light of any sorts. The light in any dark place that each of us could ever experience. Giving the weak, strength, and food to the hungry souls that lie at the feet of desperation.

 Let DIGGIN’ IN THE CRATES Podcast illuminate Hip-Hop’s guiding light over its people. Showcasing the many dimensions that the culture has to offer. Amid, giving underground Hip-Hop artists a platform to be heard around the Triad area, and gain a local fan base. Leaning on the idea, “Our beats, your rhythm.”

Crafted by two college professors who are no strangers to the universal force that is Hip Hop. DIGGIN IN THE CRATES’ will give our listeners snapshots of the history and culture of Hip Hop that began the year of 1973 in the Bronx, NY. Our show will focus on the basic elements of Hip Hop. The DJ, B-Boy/Girl, Graffiti, and the MC. The show will also look back at how Hip-Hop developed a mainstream audience with shows such as YO! MTV Raps on MTV and shows thereafter such as Rap City that aired on BET. Amid the elements, it will indulge in subjects such as artist sampling, beatboxing, MC’ing, different eras of Hip-Hop, and Hip Hop in politics. Listeners will be able to view the struggles and contributions of political thought through the lens of groups such as Public Enemy and the X Clan. DIGGIN’ IN THE CRATES will be a guide to the trials and tribulations of Hip-Hop. Taking listeners on a journey from August 11, 1973 to the present.
