Our next release comes from the up and coming Swiss trio known as Disco Burger Music Monster, aka DBMM. After hearing the group's hook-laden productions on the Zurich based imprint Hive Audio last winter, we quickly got in touch with the group who were in the process of producing 'Starscream', a collaboration with UK vocalist Terry Shand. Any Stranjjur supporter will recognize his catchy vocals from his prolific appearance on our label's biggest release to date, last summer's hit 'Where I Stand' which was a collaborative effort with Fabo.

'Starscream' is another catchy record that leaves the listener hitting the replay button and infects dance floors with it's infectious melodic groove. On remix duties are fellow Zurich up and comers Kyrill and Redford, who did a magnificent job reworking the original stems to craft a well rounded remix that shows their style and range as up and coming producers who will become more and more of a household name in the industry with each production they release. Max Lyazgin also crafts a beautiful rendition of his own, keeping things funky with a big disco influence.

After a year of landing atop radio charts worldwide and topping Itunes overall Top 100 in several European markets in 2013, Stranjjur NYC is moving back to it's underground house music roots in 2014. 

To start this new year, we bring forth our first release, crafted by Moodmusic's boss, the one and only @SASSE . With the Long Nights EP he represents his Freestlye Man moniker; an alias with which his output has also achieved a great deal of success, most recently with My Favorite Robot Records. 

For any of you who are receiving our promos, yet somehow not familiar with Sasse; you can be prepared to be served up 3 original slices of Prime-cut 90's influenced Deep House; each showing a fine marbling of class and sophistication that everyone in the industry has come to know and love Sasse for providing for so many years. 

Stranjjur founder and co-owner @Kev-Obrien adds quite an epic journey to the EP - in a literal sense - with his aplty titled "Emergency Room Revisit" mix of "Long Nights". It is strongly believed that this single remix may officially be the only one in history to ever cause physical injury to the remixer, so much so that it required Obrien a painful trip to the local Hospital Emergency Room last winter to treat. After a nonstop 12-14 hours session of work on the remix, Obrien, unable to stand up and in excruciating pain required a trip to the Hospital. After being released from care with what Doctor's diagnosed as a 'strained hip' due to remaining in one sitting position for 13 consecutive house while working on his remix; Obrien returned and allowed the cocktail of Vicodin and inspiration to complete his progressively chugging remix that moves along for a full 11 + mins, featuring some unexpected twists and turns along the way. This one is certainly "one for the heads". 

While the Stranjjur team was residing over in Berlin this past summer, a mixdown session of Kev's remix inspired an additional version of the remix, which provides us with a more floor-focused dub version from Sasse and Kev as well. 

Last but clearly by no means least is the moving and grooving, Bristol-inspired reworking of "Long Nights" which was commissioned to the super-talented London based studio-wiz, known simply as @BAUNZ .  He first caught our attention in 2012 with an EP on More Music which included remixes by two of that year's breakout artists, in Huxley and Ejeca - but for we here at Stranjjur, the true magic was in the amazing original mixes which predictably got overshadowed by the hype cloud surrounding the remixers. From that summer, the manhunt for this mystery man was underway, and despite a long mission. he was finally tracked down. Stranjjur A&R detectives managed to nab him earlier this year and as a result he makes his debut on the label now, which serves as a perfect segway to lead up to his first EP with us, which is due out this winter.

Liquified Soul 1 (Liquid Drum & Bass Mix)

Mike Terra is one of the artists who we feel we've watched grow up  since he was "yay high" (as a disclaimer to any ketamine and ecstasy addicted rave-going menaces to society who may be trying to read this; the words "yay high" are used referring to an old cliche that refers to physical height or growth.... not the thing you said when you found that bag of mystery powder on the ground on the seat of the toilet at the after-after-after-house last Tuesday at 3am, and snorted it, not caring what was inside the bag - but as usual, I digress.... )

Mike has evolved and grown to great heights over the past decade, becoming a collector of analog grear, and spending awhile in Berlin a few years back, saw him return blossoming into a highly respected DJ in the underground scene in NYC, and an ever-evolving producer of raw, gritty, groove-centric house and techno. 

He also co-founded Good Company Records a few years back, which has served as an outlet for a number of local talents. His debut EP on his label is one of sheer quality, and despite the inclusion of three remixes by the world renown Jacques Renault, we feel that his original mixes and this wonderfully-crafted dub version of Mike's "Boiling Point" were the standouts -- and as an artist, one can safely say they're doing it right if their original or remixes are the standout on a release that Mr Renault made three attempts as out-doing you on!

PREMIERE: Mike Terra - Boiling Point (St. Xose 11-11 Dub Mix) [Good Company Records]

Since his first big shot heard 'round the world of underground, cavernous dancefloors, the vocal and lyrical prowess of Simon Jinadu stood out. That shot was delivered via his collaboration with Jamie Odell on his 2013 Jimpster album, Porchlight and Rocking Chairs.

The unmistakeably earnest and heartfelt delivery of the song's deeply introspective and personally heartfelt lyrics were deeply moving to me personally at that time, as I was going through a divorce and through so many life transitions that I was finding it difficult to maintain a firm grasp on my own sanity, let alone on reality itself.

Songwriting of this nature within the often cheesy and shallow world of dance music vocals are a rare and welcomed commodity, so it was no surprise when the song was then remixed by the man of the moment, Dixon, and turned it into one of that summer's most remembered anthems.

Then came his breathtaking appearance on Klas-Henrik Lindblad's Moodmusic Records; in collaboration with Alessio Pagliaroli, "Distractions" (which was also simultaneously a breakout hit remix for Frankey & Sandrino). From my perspective, it was this record which truly propelled Mr. Jinadu onto the path which has led him to release countless collaborations with the most revered and highly regarded producers and labels in the business.

The moral of all of these words, however, does not lay on the surface in which I've used as a fitting place to foray into and down the rabbit-hole, as DiggnDeepr is obviously not about keeping our hands clean on the surface, its about getting them dirty and taking the time to dig to the bottom of the pile until our fingernails are so dirty that several days of showering will take place before we are willing to go back out into public.

In this case, that digging led me back in time, 15 years to be exact, to 2002. While I was there, I bought a Furby doll obviously. I listened to some new shit from this dude 50 Cent, who you can find in da club, who apparently is not into making love but is into having sex. All of this became moot when I discovered what I'd come to 2002 looking for: a single put out on the now defunct label Bitches Brew, by Jinadu, under his own name as original artist and vocalist, entitled "Natural Thing".

Diggn Deepr for Gems: Jinadu - Natural Thing (Original Mix)// 2002, Bitches Brew Records

The long-since defunct label Four:Twenty Recordings launched in 2001, and seems to have vanished with no trace in 2012, served as a hotbed for forward-thinking house music, releasing early cuts from the likes of Solomun, MANIK, Locodice, and many others, long before these artists became the superstars they would later become.

Despite being an avid supporter of the label, and on their promo list at the time; I -- along with hoards of others -- somehow (embarrassingly enough) completely missed this record entirely when it dropped.

A little nugget of knowledge I was not aware of until the excavation into the mystery that this record is shrouded in, is the fact that Four:Twenty turns out to have been a subsidiary of the infamous Hope Recordings brand (notoriously known as the label Nick Warren ran A&R for).

Anyhow, on to the subject at hand: the beautiful piece of music which is presented before you. 

It wasn't until recently when I unearthed this gem, which was covered in cobwebs entirely, that seems to have been largely overlooked and ignored by -- well, pretty much EVERYONE -- in the discovery of this original mix of "Alba Adriatica" by Class 71, which was released on wax in September of 2008, and included what would ultimately become it's arch nemesis that buried it into the ground early and for good, on it's B-side, which was a pair of mixes from Move D (which, while done with good intent and well-produced, simply don't measure up to the original, in my opinion.)

I stumbled upon this absolutely incredible chunk of driving, jazzy, nugget of grooving gold last month during an all-night digging session on Juno. It was a digging session like most others until I was led down a tunnel (thanks to Juno's highly accurate and intruitive reccomendation algorithm), where I found myself reminiscing days of old, remembering the classics that Four:Twenty delivered, but feeling the urge and need to be delving deeper into the label's back catalog. 

Then I hit the paydirt, and it was about as glimmering as a gem could be, despite the cobwebs it was raveled and tangled in.

DiggnDeepr For Gems - Alba Adriatica - Class 71 [Four Twenty, 2008]

wewillalwaysbealovesong has been a label that we’ve been watching, supporting and listening to in it’s growth, especially over the past year. The French imprint has a penitence for releasing heartfelt funkmelodica (yes, that’s a new genre name that we just decided to create out of thin air), and have done so with style; releasing EPs from DJ Yellow, Tevo Howard and most recently, a superb quartet of heavenly cuts from the ever mysterious, Ponty Mython. 

The Tropic of Capricorn EP, released on 12” last month, now gives birth to a follow-up ensemble of remixes, from the likes of Black Loops, Bal5000, Nebraska and everyone’s favorite Fuckpony, the one and only Mr. Jay Haze.

Today we present to you and premiere Jay Haze’s ’Turkish Lover’ rendition of Turkish Bath, which appeared as the B1 on the original EP, and was about as funkmelodic as they come. One thing Jay Haze has always been known for, however, is his ability to produce music that always sounds different than you’d expect, and it’s one of the reasons he has and will always remain relevant, so long as he carries on as he has all these years. 

Haze’s mix starts off down the dark and dubby route during the first half of the excursion, before unleashing the filter on the bass, swirling around the old LFO whip, right before bringing in an arsenal of closed hats and shuffling percussion that turn the energy knob up and make this one that will surely get any discerning dance floor moving in the wee hours.

NYC's rapidly rising Stranjjur Imprint has been holding this EP in their vault for quite awhile, awaiting the right moment when they felt it would get the attention it deserves; and that moment has arrived; as this EP is following H.O.S.H. & HearThuG's 'Technicolour' -- a release some have dubbed as "one of 2012's best" (Sound Effect Magazine) 

The less than one-year-old imprint's young and gifted artist, Josh Kleyton put together a masterpiece in 'Night and Day' , which was the first demo the young label received that prompted an immediate signing. "it was a no-brainer, and we hope the world will agree." says Stranjjur label head, Kev Obrien. 

With the original mix of "Night and Day" being driven by a tough and driving groove, while managing to stay emotive and heart-clenching simultaneously, its more a "chic techno" style song, as Josh so eloquently puts it himself. 

The label says "when remixer selection time arrives; for such a special song; a truly creative label should provide a wide variety of styles -- we don't do formulaic releases here at Stranjjur; we wish to remain diverse in every way possible.. and the 3 remixes in addition to the variety of sounds we focus on each release, should hopefully show that intent clearly. We ain't no one-trick ponies. " 

With that said, the release certainly does provide a varied range of styles, each unique and intentionally far from the same stuff the other labels seem to be stuck on lately. 

Stranjjur-regulars, Lula Circus delivered an amazing, house-focused remix that builds layer upon layer and gives the song a strong modern touch. 

Freerange and Room with a View artist Andreas Saag takes things precisely where we knew he would, providing a deep, hypnotic and nearly "progressive" sounding perspective. 

And of course, since label heads Kev Obrien and Chris Luzz loved it so much.. their mix under their Manhattan Projject guise provides yet another variation, leaning toward a bass heavy, bristol-style sound that gets people moving every time! 

Last but not least: Josh's own "nothing changes" caps the EP off in a BIG way -- have a listen and you'll hear for yourself!

Eyedyllic Music is starting it’s 2019 release plan off with a serious bang; presenting a uniquely talented Brooklyn-based artist, releasing his debut EP under the moniker, J Gabriel. 

The You Know/What They Say EP boasts two incredible J Gabriel originals, and also features stunning remixes from deep house legends, Vincenzo and Nick Holder.

With the lead title cut, You Know, J Gabriel masterfully implements his minimalistic approach toward house music, painting an introspective and imaginative picture that inspires and moves. The magic is in the details, and on this one, it’s all about the catchy bass-line and well-programmed chords, which create an inspirational vibe when paired with carefully selected spoken-word samples, embedded in classic deep house roots.

On the remix tip, Vincenzo steps up first; making use of You Know’s strongest elements, by utilizing the original bass-line and creating what he himself calls an “immersive” vibe. Deep, driving, melodic and perfectly arranged for maximum dancefloor effect, is this wonderful remix from Vincenzo.

Toronto-based house connoisseur Nick Holder then delves deep into his repertoire on his remix, turning in a lovely rendition of You Know; reminiscent of NYC-style underground house music, by donning the cap of his well-revered Trackheadz moniker.

The EP comes to a close with a perfect B-side, in What They Say. The vibes are thick, as J Gabriel shows his love of dubby atmospheric dancefloor cuts with this one, which should be well-suited for more underground and discerning DJs and dancefloors.

Release info: Miami to Detroit transplant, Silent Revolt, makes his debut on Eyedyllic Music with Dogmatik. The single also includes two remixes from Basti Grub and Demarkus Lewis. Here we premiere Basti Grub's psychedelic twist.

Speaking on how the release came together, Silent Revolt described how "Dogmatik was inspired by a conversation Ari Carlini and myself had one morning. After hours of deep philosophical discussion, I decided to record some of Ari's statements and went from there."

The docile tones of Dogmatik lead proceedings in a gentle fashion, as Silent Revolt's original sways softly between rounded pads and philosophical vocal samples that state "we're never gonna know it all", in to form a perfect summer chiller that provokes deep thought on our current times.

Crosstown Rebels inductee Basti Grub serves up a trippy remix and retains the easygoing nature of the original, adding a bit of psychedlic flavor, with a similarly subtle bassline that swiftly gets complemented by a pronounced kick-hat combo. This is a belter of a remix at nearly 10 minutes long!
