Archaeologies of Destruction is a meditation on decay, vacancy, latent potential, and dormant life. Unfolding as both a sonic and socio spatial reflection, it gathers material recorded over two years during the production of a hybrid documentary project of the same title. Condensed into a single long-form piece, these recordings peer and listen inside some of the thousands of derelict buildings scattered across Lisbon and its peripheral neighbourhoods, a city now enduring an acute housing crisis.

Obscenely empty, left to rot, these structures shelter sonic micro-ecosystems within their crumbling walls. Recorded, processed, and amplified live in situ, they resonate with abandonment and void – yet also point toward hidden life, availability, and the possibility of reuse.
