Téo & Téa Cover (Well, Shall We Have Some More Téa?)

Here is my version of Jochen Hippel's (aka Mad Max) fantastic introduction/menu music for The Seven Gates of Jambala.

The Seven Gates of Jambala was developed by Thalion Software and published by Grandslam Interactive in 1989. This was the first game developed by Thalion, and was a launch pad for the Atari ST demo group The Exceptions (Tex) and their venture into commercial games.

Originally created on the YM2149 sound chip for the Atari ST, this has to be one of my favorite introduction tunes. I've incorporated some of Jochen's original sounds into this tune as without them it just doesn't sound the same.

Xenon (In Game)

Welcome to the magical Enchanted Land! This is my remix version of the classic Jochen Hippel (aka Mad Max) intro music for the groundbreaking Atari ST game, Enchanted Land. It is created using lots of lovely 80s instruments and also features Jochen himself (see if you can spot him).

Enchanted Land broke all the rules of the Atari ST to give the best platformer experience ever created. It was written by Nic Thisell of the demo crew The Carebears (TCB) and published by Thalion in 1990.

Here is my version of I, Ball composed by Wally Beben for the Atari ST and published under the budget Silverbird range in 1987. This track is mainly using the ARP 2600 for instrumentation, however there are just some parts of this great tune that cannot be replaced from the original square wave of the YM2149 chip. I have recreated these sounds using a retro chip synthesizer in Reason 12.5.

"I, Ball can best be described as a vertically-scrolling assault game, although the usual assault craft has been replaced by a spherical character with one eye - hence the title" - ST Action

I, Ball

I recently found this track on an old hard disk of mine. It is a tune that I created when I was around 20 years old - so many years ago! I've long since lost the original stems for it, so I have cleaned this up the best I can and remastered.

Hope you enjoy some old skool dance/EDM.

A Prehistoric Tale (Introduction)

In the years after the loss of the Space Police, space became home to roving bands of pirates who lay in wait for the unwary pilot. Survival relied on a fast ship and powerful weapons. The pilots who survived became known as “Free Traders.”

Soon, the best of the pilots began to hire themselves out as escorts to ships owned by rich merchants looking to make vast amounts of money from this anarchy.

To counteract this threat, the pirates grouped together and attacked in force.
Many pilots died trying to fight off large pirate forces. So, they grouped together, and in one huge battle, killed most of the pirates. So, that today, piracy is only a small problem. The group of pilots were known as.. “The Federation of Free Traders.”


Here is an additional version of Federation of Free Traders (FOFT) composed by the late great Ben Daglish. In this version, we have the opening monologue from the game provided by Jamal "Mr. Baritone" Finley.

Federation of Free Traders is a space trading video game released in 1989 for the Atari ST and Amiga. It was similar in scope to Elite, involving space simulation and exploration tilted towards trading. The player is tasked with exploring and discovering the billions of procedurally generated galaxies and planets. The game was developed and published by Gremlin Interactive.

Reasonable Bells Part 1 (Excerpt) - Tubular Bells Cover

A version of the Jean Michel Jarre track "Moon Machine". Originally written for the Zoolook album, it never made it to the final release, but instead was released on the Images best of album.
It uses many of the default patches and sound effects from the Fairlight CMI IIx.

This version was created using Reason 6.0 and the Fairlight XXL refill from Bitley.
