Roots Atao is a french sound system from Brittany. He plays roots and dub music since more than ten  years and  he is often invested in various projects alongside Stand High Patrol like « Dubadub Residance » or more recently «Telerama Dub Festival».

In February 2014 the sound presents his label « Roots Atao Productions » with a first 12inch 45rpm. This release is the result of several collaborations with artists from western France. On the West side, the female singer Lali sings a traditional love song from brittany on a Munky Lee’s roots stepper Riddim. This track comes with its dub version. The East side of the record is dedicated to Double Doctor’s work. It gathers two versions of a stepper dub mixed by Digital Noar. With its old school sleeve, its local artists, and maybe the first stepper tune ever voiced in breton language, this record is a surprising and delightful blend of Brittany, roots and dub music.

Alpha Steppa Meets Don Fe featuring Reality SoulJahs. After the success of Steppas Records' previous collaboration with Don Fe it was inevitable a second instalment would surface. This time with musical and lyrical support from label head Alpha Steppa and long time UK Roots vocal duo Reality SoulJahs, respectively. A heavy steppers riddim from Don Fe featuring the conscious militant lyrics of Reality SoulJahs accompanied by an earth-shattering Alpha Steppa version and dub mixes from both camps. Mastered with maximum clarity and bass pressure and housed in the brand new reverse-board 300gsm Steppas Records house-bag.

The Reality duo initiated their musical kinship in 1990 with the launch of their Reality Sound System. From the early days of lifting boxes and recording dubplates, this North London duo have gone on to forge a powerful relationship and have established themselves as intelligent and instantly recognisable vocal and lyrical talents. An integral part of today's UK roots reggae scene.

UK born musician and producer based in Spain for over 20 years, Don Fe’s passion since the age of five has been music, classically trained in piano, flute and theory and as from sixteen reggae. From his humble beginnings in the 80s with a 4 track and a TDK D90 his riddims and productions are now being played by the world’s most respected sounds – Channel One, Jah Shaka, Aba Shanti, Iration Steppas and many more all over the world.

C'est au fin fond d'une forêt en 2014 que le champignon Psiloshock voit le jour et commence à répandre
ses spores, partant de rien et découvrant au fur et à mesure de sa propagation la MAO. Après plusieurs années à expérimenter le Trip-hop, il se dirige vers son premier amour : le Dub. Influencé par divers styles musicaux, sa musique est un véritable melting-pot musical, piochant dans le Hip-hop, l'Electro et le Dubstep, tout en y incorporant en général quelques samples vocaux de films/séries qui le font vibrer. 

Après deux EP expérimentaux, son premier album "Family Reunion" réuni la plupart des personnes qui lui ont permis d'avancer dans la musique et donc d'ancrer son mycélium profondément dans le sol. Une véritable réunion de famille pleine de surprises qui vous emmènera au fin fond d'une obscure forêt remplie d'énergie.

Its deep in the woods back in 2014 that the Psiloshock mushroom began spreading its spores, starting from nowhere and discovering progresively the CAM. After a few years of experimenting trip hop he
meets his first love : Dub. Influenced by several styles, his work is an authentic musical melting pot between hip hop, electro and dubstep while incorporating a few samples of movies and TV shows that
meant something to him. 

After two experimental EPs, his first album "Family Reunion" gathers most of the people that allowed him to go further in the musical world and therefore to ground his mycelium deeply into the soil. A real family reunion full of suprises that will bring you deep in the dark forest filled with energy.
