Sampled from Carlos Simon’s Fate Now Conquers. Listening to a performance of this live was an incredible experience and I would like to share my favorite part. Lately, heavily inspired by the work of Ben Frost, Tim Hecker, and William Basinski, I have found it interesting to mangle orchestral music both more technically in Ableton and, in the case of this track, loosely in a live setting utilizing modular Eurorack equipment.

Digital Artifact is a computer engineer and composer based in Kansas with a devoted interest in modular synthesis, polyrhythms, minimalist drones, and analog tape. Each song is designed to elicit a varying emotional response. Topics written about include apocalypse scenarios, philosophy of the human condition, and divine interconnectedness. Genres range from neo-classical to electronic IDM.
