Why Intensity? I began to see hope that there would be an end to the COVID-19 pandemic. I felt the intense energy in people beginning to break free of the bonds of staying at home, being quarantined, recovering, etc. We still have a long road ahead to support each other.

As we continue to emerge, I wanted this album to bring feelings of positive intensity for humanity's eventual return to a more vibrant and positive life. My hope is that this music will provide you with the raw emotion of this part of our history.

My goal is that you will need a new pair of shoes after dancing to the album! Haha!

About Daniel Vincent and DVous Music
Daniel has more than 44 years of professional experience as a performer, composer, and producer with His formal training was in Jazz and Classical music, and he gravitated toward Electronic over the years. He began keyboard lessons at six year of age as a way to help cure his dyslexia. His inspiration comes from artists such as Jean-Michel Jarre, Pat Metheny, Chick Corea, and Tangerine Dream. 

Why the name DVous Music? (Pronounced like "devious")
I'm not devious, but I love to joke around a lot. The name is derived from a variety of new music that deviates from the norm and it's my initials, hence "DV."

Just A Kiss

My mother died when I was 25, and this song is primarily about the last day of her life, when I sat by her side until she was gone. It is told from her perspective, of having fought too long against death and now just wanting it to end.

The final section is about the seemingly unending grief that followed. At the time I thought that if I deliberately cried every day I could somehow process all of that grief and empty myself of tears. After a month or two of this, I still felt just as awful. Whoops! It turns out grief is not something you can just push out of your system.

This track had been sitting in recording machine for 18 months. It needed a finish, a eureka moment. So verily, one late September morn, I shaped G barre chord an octave higher and bingo that moment had arrived.
This song itself is a true story that has been experienced, not just in the town where I grew up, but throughout the world.  The lyrics explain.

A minute of silence please, to the town that lost its soul. This once breathing metropolis is laying in state , a tragic end, its heart beats no more. There's no mourning or obituary, of that I'm sure. 
So let's raise a glass to the movers and shakers the big money makers. Who played with our lives like monopoly, world domination. Our fate sealed with a throw of a dice. Who destroyed the lives of the average Joe, because we are all easy come, easy go. Just so long as we make a bit of dough. So how many Mercs is it going to be, 1,2,3?
