It's from my experiences on the streets of Honolulu and Dallas to a lesser extent that i derived this little diddy. it's the short version. I haven't uploaded anything new to Soundcloud in a few years but i intend to keep working and discovering new avenues of expression and platforms. I used to kinda want to write only happy stuff but i learned that real crap stuff lyrically speaking can make us feel happy or better. Outdoor cellphone recording.

Layered. Not so weird weirdo shit. Stop motion funk with breathy vocals. Drums, Bass, Guitars, Vocals all done by myself...late night solo. me. Admiration of a female imaginary or real it doesn't matter cause i made it all up anyway.... like a dream looking in from the outside. I eventually might have found her or whatever. Did she break my heart? maybe. Keep on moving? FKN right.

it's really more of a funk track to me.
I played and recorded the drums and upon listening, found a loop that was "palatable" and then I added the bass, piano guitar etc etc and sang and it turned out halfway decent.
  It was more of an experiment and the concept is that I'm writing about a girl I've never seen or met,  that basically doesn't exist except in my mind or heart or imagination. it's meant to sound a little #creepy #horndogish.

this is beautiful re-interpretation of a beat i made and Quiet worked on before called "under the cunt gun", a working title for the beat that doesn't really have any bearing on the fun and teasing wordsmithery applied to the track. the first interpretation is a bit more straight up rapping where as this one brings in several elements that really cool it down like a sonic hug under the mist of a waterfall you cheesy fut.

Haas Grosjean Full Mix

6.15.2010 was when i first started it i think.  it is a 25-3? second repetitive Reason arrangement put through effects (grain delay and friends) and recorded onto Live. This was repeated 3 times with different results giving this fairly standard beat/intro an undulating digital wobble warble and shock waves. the fourth and final repetition is the first one again, bringing it full circle then the Second Movement is a contemporary -psychedelic funky drummer breakbeat affair and then it all radically smooths out in the refractory period.

 BUMBAI. It was an idea before it was a studio project/band. The  psychedelic disco, fusion, prog-rock and obscure rarities that Ryan and Mark played music every Tue. at 9 am for the 'Bumbai Breakfast Blastoff" on 90.3fm*(amazing facts) tightened and focused the the subtleties and nuances to the Bumbai ideal.  the same attention to details of style and philosophy that gave them both much acclaim as a two of Honolulu's musical best. A multi-instrumentalist jazz musician and anexperienced vinyl aficionado (djHarvey-schooled) good from the 9pm sexy to the 3am cerebral melt-face. During a 3-5 month period in '09 Ryan K. and dj Mark put pieces together in the form of a recording program and two new members. Ted de'Oliviera a percussionist/wizard of sound (genius son of Brazilian musical royalty Carlinhos de Pandero)and funk-abstract guitarist/bassist producer Bret Stidham. This song is some of the later material which reflects boundaries bent but still within Bumbai's parameters of style with a subtle New Wave nod. This features a friend and vocalist named Ann Angel. Bret on guitar and keys, Ted subtle additions Mark chopped the lines pen and ink.

 *  in FM U.S. airwaves 90.3 FM Honolulu is well known for the freedom allowed it's DJs. While other University stations increase the amount of mandatory songs for each time-slot and narrow the scope of selection w/in genre allotted djs, KTUH has been awesome in the being cool department for some reason or another. If you can argue that a song is within your genre that pretty much makes it okay.
