Welcome to listen the 055 by Drvg Cvltvre.
Since 2009, Vincent Koreman a.k.a. Drvg Cvltvre has been working on his own blend of dystopian acid, no wave and experimental house. Koreman is a highly productive producer, often offering his new tracks for free download on his soundcloud page before they get signed by labels. Respected in the international underground for his groundbreaking work as RA-X in the 90's on labels like Bunker and KK Records, Drvg Cvltvre comes from a DIY punk background, opting for hard work rather than hollow pose.
His recent releases include the well received 2012's R-zone #1 on the respected Creme Organization, an untitled 10" on Porn Wax which instantly got dj support from John Talabot, Trevor Jackson and Cottam and the recent 12" 'American Psychosis' on Shipwrec, which was made The Guardian's track of the week. Out now are a 12" on Permanent Vacation, a 12" on Signals and American Psychosis part 2 on Shipwrec, with another 4 releases coming up on M&gt;O&gt;S&gt; Recordings, Rave Or Die, Danny Daze’s Cybertracks and Flight Recorder
Drvg Cvltvre's tracks take the speed down a notch to emphasis on the heavy-ness of sound and using the space left between the pounding kicks to build melancholic melodies that seem to grow out of or evaporate into thin air. A blend of dark techno and deep house with lots of room for experiment influenced in equal parts by Suicide, Sun Ra and Terrence Dixon.

This weeks guest is Lehmann Club resident Simo Lorenz. It’s been a turbulent but successful year so far for him, with appearances at ADE 2014: Dockyard Festival, Disturbance at Arena Club Berlin and Stattbad, as well as some outstanding releases on Nachtstrom Schallplatten, Wall Music and Drowne Records that got supported by the likes of Marco Bailey and Sam Paganini. Right now he is working on some of his own music and looking forward to bid farewell to 2014 on 20.12. at CLR Stuttgart with Lucy, Dense & Pika and Moses as well as on 27.12. at EDP alongside Speedy J, Shifted and Sawlin.

It is with extraordinary honour that we are pleased to introduce today's guest. Chris Roman, aka 214, has a habit of getting lost in his studio, which happens to be tucked into the same mystical foothills as the David Lynch town of Twin Peaks, a location whose presence looms across much of Roman’s audio narrative, deftly playing foil to his creative heritage as a Miami native grounded in that area’s electro scene.
Since his production debut in 2002 Roman has cultivated a substantial discography of future dance floor thump and heady sci fi vapors with releases on notable labels such as Frustrated Funk, Klakson, Central Processing Unit (CPU), Shipwrec, 20:20 Vision, and Touchin Bass. He's also appeared on three Fabric compilations, including an exclusive track commissioned for Steffi’s highly lauded Fabric 94 mix.
Though clubs all over the world have hosted 214’s hardware-heavy live sets,including 3 performances at acclaimed Berghain, he’s also known for working dance floors with dexterous precision for anyone lucky enough to catch him behind the decks.
214’s upcoming projects include EPs for Frustrated Funk and a Science Cult V/A.

Which artists has influenced you the most? 
- This is a tough one to answer. I'm someone who loves consuming all styles of music in all genres. I think that is something that reflects in my music more than specific artists. I've been influenced by many over the years.

What new projects/releases with your participation are expected in the near future? 
- I just released an EP for Frustrated Funk about 2 months ago and have another on the way soon. Likely available at the end of summer/early fall. There's also a track I contributed to an upcoming Science Cult V/A that I'm excited about.

Which artists/labels is more relevant to you now? 
- Relevancy is not something I'm looking for. There's a number of quality artists and labels who haven't released in a while who I still pull to play, but there's also a large number of new labels and artists releasing interesting music. What I love about the current state of music is how many artists are creating sounds based on mixing multiple genres.

What inspires you now to create music? 
- My surroundings and music from all genres. Inspiration is all around us.

What set-up do you use when creating music? 
- A combination of hardware and software. I find the secret sauce to come from both worlds.

It is Monday the 2nd of February 2015 and we are coming to the end of our little series of local heroes and faithful supporters of the Techno scene, this time with Simo Lorenz from Stuttgart´s distinguished Lehmann club. Simo loves to play extended, passionate DJ-sets, not only in his residency at the Lehmann, but also in numerous renowned national and international clubs. His digital DJ setup allows for a maximum of real time creativity and in the studio he is a prolific producer of original tracks and remixes, some of which appeared on labels such as Wall Music, Nachtstrom Schallplatten, Drowne Records or Illegal Alien, just to name a few. He furthermore co-founded the booking agency Blakksheep at the end of 2014, with artists like Alex Bau, Sam Paganini, Sasha Carassi, Luis Flores, Johannes Heil, himself and many more in the roster. Simo is celebrating his 30th birthday on the 15th of February at the so-called “Dirty Thirty” event at the Lehmann.
