Icelandic electronic musician 𝗷 𝗮 𝗱 𝘇 𝗶 𝗮 has been making waves in the dance music realm with her outstanding production finesse and dedication to cutting-edge sound design. Her constantly evolving sound is fueled by an appetite for the strange, open-minded attitude towards genres, and a thirst for experimentation.

Since 2018 she’s been steadily releasing music on various labels across the globe such as Monnom Black, International Chrome and A7A, as well as being an integral part of the Icelandic electro crew 𝗦 𝘄 𝗲 𝗮 𝘁 𝘆  𝗥 𝗲 𝗰 𝗼 𝗿 𝗱 𝘀.

Luke Eargoggle joins forces with Dataintrang here for a seasonally appropriate ice-cold electro outing on Return to Disorder. It kick off with side-long opener 'Top Of The Pyramid' which is full of sidewinding synths and squealing analogue lines over corrugated bass. After that one comes the manic and high tempo electro-shocks of 'Not Unique' with snappy snares and darkened vocals. Last but not least is the most brutal assault of them all - '7 Days A Week', a melange of wild acid lines and liquid metal leads with turbulent bass and a general sense of intergalactic warfare.

Not for the first time she felt she had been used. From the start everything had been done according to the rules: the proper education, the right friends, the most suitable employment, the perfect execution of a flawless image. And yet here again she was: wasted cold and uninvolved. For decades she had been stuck, unable to get beyond cursory relationships, brief partnerships found in bars, parties, shopping galas and work-spaces, bound in depressants and stimulants and consummated in frivolous physical transactions. Drifting past windows, tremendous reflections of herself awakened, held in vast images, personalised holograms and softly dancing mannequins. Exultations to maintain the good life adjusted to her personal preferences stored in data about her body. The afternoon light refracted neon orange through the dome arching out, down and round, wide across the skyline: the glossy circuit of the world. She stared glumly about, so much perfect beauty realised, rendered, touched and presented, everything exactly as the screens said it should be. And yet here she was, empty, lost within this web of bright white smiling people, people who looked and lived just as she did; her stomach heaved, she was terribly alone and no amount of stimulant, DNA fixing or acquisition could alter this conscious realisation. Her demographic all knew the holy laws of science: heat death, symmetry, rational equilibrium and you cannot deny the laws of physics even in ordered societies of functioning human beings. She realised and recognised for too long reaction had deceived action: screw these bastards, she would eat them all. Her future lay formed and complete in disruption via antithesis to the norm. In a world of wholly calculated beauty the only way to truth was to be defiant in impulsive ugliness, ascension through depression and soul enriching cleanliness found in chaos and in filth.
Tzusing has previously released two well received E.P.s on Ron Morelli’s Long Island Electrical Systems, one man’s personal project to redefine the laws of modern dance music. Here Tzusing presents just over an hour of EBM informed sounds, relishing in harsh tones, unexpected samples, noisy techno and grungy electronics. Post-punk no-wave realised via synthesiser and drum machine: because when the digital sheen gets too much its analogue soul that shows the way to sonic heaven.

Digital Tsunami 075 - Tzusing

Sitting in the corner Berk uncoiled his arms and opened his mouth revealing a deep black pit, words fell out, “what have you done? You know you’ve fucked them you know?” Across the room the physician sniffed. Warm summer rain fell down across the thin glass of the single window, drumming out complex patterns in the half light. The shadows were lengthening, creeping out from Berk’s half folded spider body; gradually shrinking inwards the walls were moving ever closer to the physician paused calmly at his table. Beyond the window a single dead tree clawed the sky. Continuing, black hole open breathless words wormed themselves out past broken teeth, “You’re keeping them in a constant state of revolution. This constant movement, its emptying the ground out beneath their little feet. This can never end well. All that was holy is profane and all that was solid is melted into air. It’s a constant running to catch breaths you have yet to take. Total acceleration. The project is clearly unfinished. You’re failing to give them tools they need to make themselves, you've left them adrift in Interzone with nothing but lies and baubles to fill the void. Everywhere is filthy stinking nihilism. The system is going to eat itself.” The physician shifted, lifting up his head, “what the fuck would you know Berk, you’re dead.” he murmured. “The world is no longer interested in heroes”. A tear fell from Berk’s sunken leather cheek, “our blessed naked friends” he quietly moaned. The physician sighed and went back to digging out organs from the twitching body laid upon the table, “everything is an experiment now and this one must continue” he thought to himself. Outside beneath an indigo sky she looked up into his eyes, standing on tippy toes and wrapping her arms around his neck; he smelt of quiet strength, cigarettes and damp leather. She told him she loved him, and she did. So much so. But that’s what everyone wanted, right? To be loved, to be wanted? Feelings are meaningless when you can’t share them with anybody. Down the street a stray dog died quietly in the gutter. Behind the empty tenements warm rain washed blood from rusting train lines.
Broken English Club is a pseudonym of Oliver Ho, a British DJ and techno producer who released his first record back in 1996 on James Ruskin’s legendary Blueprint. Broken English Club saw its first release on Jealous God, a label ran collectively by Ruskin, Regis and Juan Mendez, aka Silent Servant; further releases can be found on Minimal Wave sub-label, Cititrax. Here BEC lays down a deeply intriguing mix, incorporating several of his own works this is twilight music relishing in greyed out tones, drone, ambience, post punk and the soft steady thump of the machine drum: music for the new reality, emanating from somewhere north of Birmingham and south of Manchester, flitting in and out of time between 1979 and 2256.

Moving with finesse between forgotten Japanese punk gems, unrequited German industrial beat downs and obscure Polish experimental sounds whilst incorporating contemporary noise, acid, techno and some of her own creations JASSS weaves a profound auditory tapestry: moving effortlessly through time, location and sonic fascinations. You know, like a real DJ, giving you what you need not what you want, striding through time & space to ensure the very best for their dancefloor and wider listening public. JASSS will be shortly releasing an E.P. on Amir Alexander’s and Chris Mitchell’s Annunaki Cartel, with more tracks set for release over the coming months. Keep a blood-shot beady eye on this act, talent this bright won’t stay in the shadows for long.

Our summer ends right now. With small delay we are pushing top gear and starting new podcasts season with one of the most interesting djs in this underground planet. Here is a short description about Golden Pudel resident dj Phuong-Dan, other our top writing will be  online as soon as our writer will back to this crazy deep web world. 

Phuong-dan is a renowned dj based in Hamburg, Germany. For over a decade now he is both resident and host at legendary St. Pauli underground venue golden pudel club. Since seven years he runs the club-night Gatto Musculoso, with guests like italian pioneer Beppe Loda, Veronica Vasicka of the Minimal Wave label, Daniel Wang, Vladimir Ivkovic, Tolouse Low Trax, Hunee, Anika, Lovefingers, Traxx, Alexis Le-Tan, Vidal Benjamin, Sean Canty or Ron Morelli. These list is far from complete but does describe the personal taste of Phuong-Dan and so the musical range of his dj sets. He is spinning an unique eclectic mix from contemporary underground techno, minimal synth, post-punk, new pop and ebm, the electronic side of krautrock, and rare disco, to flashy left field experimental stuff – he couldn't care less for narrow minded ones who restrict themself to a certain genre or a specific decade, he is exploring the whole world of music on search for the groove of the night. Naturally, it should be on vinyl. Phuong-Dan is a regularly guest at Düsseldorf's Salon des Amateurs, he played noted clubs like Robert Johnson in offenbach, le Sucre in Lyon, Studio 80 in Amsterdam, le Batofar in Paris or 20/44 in Belgrade; but also in art spaces like C/O Berlin, Haus Der Kunst Munich, Kunsthalle Vienna, or at events like international short film festival Oberhausen, foreign affairs festival Berlin, european media art festival Osnabrück, mimi festival Marseille, or überjazz in Hamburg. He had supporting slots at concerts of artists like Asmus Tietchens, Dieter Moebius (of cluster fame), Burnt Friedman & Jaki Liebezeit, Kreidler, Felix Kubin, Gigi Masin, Steve Summers, Das Ding, Aksak Maboul & Veronique Vincent and many more. 

Since January 2015 Berlin community radio streams the opening hours of his gatto musculoso – when he shares the decks with his guest playing each other new discoveries or old faves, loosely dedicated to the more nonfunctional side of music.

Digital Tsunami 081 - Phuong-Dan

Phase Fatale is the techno project of Berlin-based DJ and producer Hayden Payne from New York. Born out of his various post-punk and cold wave bands in the past, Phase Fatale is an artistic endeavour that serves as an outlet for his own interpretation of the darker, harder and industrial-leaning techno. The project aims to demolish the border between music and noise to create a new individual vision of techno – the sound of future war, whether it’s captured on vinyl or an extract of the digital static.
Phase Fatale uses exclusively hardware to achieve his distinguishable sound for his live sets while his DJ sets feature a unique blend of techno laced with EBM and industrial. His 2014 debut EP Skyscraper on Italian label Avant! Records moves between noise-ridden soundscapes and minimal industrial techno rhythms, capturing the spirits of both EBM classics and modern contemporaries. His most anticipated forthcoming 2015 releases include EPs on Berlin-based [Aufnahme + Wiedergabe] followed by Jealous God. Phase Fatale has played alongside acts such as Clock DVA and Cold Cave around the world from Los Angeles to Moscow.

Digital Tsunami 084 - Phase Fatale

Rome native Allesandro Adriani is something of a synth-wave obsessive and Mannequin Records, the label he now runs from Berlin is the manifestation of his disorder. Mannequin exists across two spheres, functioning as a platform for reissues from artists such as Italian synth-pop duo Degada Saf or German post-punkers Taste Of Decay whilst releasing music from newer bands such as Led Er Est and artists like Mushy and Beau Wanzer. Originally funded by selling ‘Magic: The Gathering’ playing cards found in his basement Mannequin was initially conceived as a distributor for the lost music Adriani stumbled across in record shops and garage sales: post-punk archaeology. By the time of the re-issue package ‘Danza Meccanica - Italian Synth Wave 1982 – 1987’ in 2009 the project had evolved to became a fully fledged record label and now has over seventy releases to its name. Whilst the stylistic range of the label remains broad the imprint maintains a distinct identity by channelling the loss, melancholy and spiky angst of late 1970s and 1980s European punk and electronic music down through its artists and releases. This mix recalls the darker tones of the original post-punk, synth wave era whilst charged with a fresh angst and loss and the caustic tragedies of a world alienated from itself.
