Inspired by Doom: Eternal level 1, Hell on Earth. 

Tried to create a very consistent, driving verse/hook combo since the combat in this level isn't exactly crazy. Used the atmospheric section as a kind of set dressing for the musical parts. I sampled the starter shotgun under the snare drum as a meme, but it grew on me and I left it in the final mix.

Deagic Council

Inspired by Doom: Eternal level 2, Exultia.

Interesting material to draw from because half the level is "Green man learns to dash around Hyrule Castle" and the other half is "Combat tour in the gore-strewn wastes of Hell itself".

Literal thought process on the breakdown: if I were the Devil, I'd torment souls with some 2010's dubstep noises.

Celestial Hunter

Inspired by Doom: Eternal Level 3, Cultist Base. 

Cultist Base is my favorite song from Mick Gordon's OST and tried my best to match that energy. This was actually the first riff I wrote for this whole Doom project but because I wanted to go in level order it just sat in a folder taunting me for several weeks.

Cursed Citadel

Inspired by Doom: Eternal Level 4, Doom Hunter Base.

My goal was to structure this one like a boss fight, ramping up each iteration of the riff. Leaned less on atmosphere and sound designed some texture elements instead. And since I'm a small fraction of the producer Mick Gordon is, I sampled a chainsaw and... just used it as a chainsaw.

Disassembly Line

Inspired by Doom: Eternal level 5, Super Gore Nest. 

The high-to-low riff is an homage to the original music. All the sound design is themed around insects and squelch noises to suit the environment of the level. Even the lead preset is called "Angry Bees."

Guts Ground Zero

Inspired by Doom: Eternal level 6, ARC Complex. 

Tried for a strong groove and plenty of cinematic extras. Obviously nothing will ever hit as hard as TOTTFIY, but I tried my best to write a theme befitting a Marauder fight.

False Idol

Inspired by Doom: Eternal level 7, Mars Core.

Was wondering what it would sound like inside the BFG control pod between shots, this is my attempt.

Firing Sequence

Inspired by Doom: Eternal level 8, Sentinel Prime.

Mick had a choir of professional metal vocalists, I had 12 clones of myself in an untreated room. Similar to the previous boss fight song, I wanted to iterate and ramp up the intensity of a single motif. This might be my best mix yet, and is definitely my favorite breakdown of this whole Doom thing so far.

Ritual Combat

Inspired by Doom: Eternal Level 9, Taras Nabad.

This is a divergence from the rest of the tracks in this project. The combat music in this level is reused, so I leaned more on the atmospherics. I wanted to capture the forlorn nature of the backdrop while also writing a heavy crescendo to acknowledge the battle between Slayer and Titan.

Fallen Titan

Inspired by Doom: Eternal Levels 10/11, Nekravol.

Nekravol I/II are my favorite levels in the game. The combo of setting and soundtrack is just so good. I went into this with the mindset of non-stop combat, the atmospheric breaks are only there to give my hands a break from hitting the strings so hard. At Drop B, this is the lowest guitar tuning I've used so far and I'm really pleased with it.

Capitol Of Punishment

Inspired by Doom: Eternal level 11, Urdak.

The penultimate track of the campaign OST project. Experimented with a simplified Doom Array for the synth parts as Mick described in the famous GDC video. The synth bass is a series of 6 tracks slammed into the Argent Compressor, the lead is a saw wave made angrier by Vital and Ruina.
