This was such a special night, perfect weather and a dance floor full of friends deep in the woods. It was the first chance I'd had to play on a big soundsystem post-lockdown and share 2 years worth of cuts that desperately needed playing somewhere other than my Twitch stream.

Today Steve Robles, a.k.a. Drop, lost his battle with Covid-19 in a Los Angeles hospital. He was my friend for nearly 20 years and a legend in Bay Area chill rooms. In the early 2000's it was Steve who invited me to join his downtempo, left-field, "anything-goes as long as the crowd is having fun" DJ crew, The Ambient Mafia. And by extension I joined a larger family of DJs and creative people in the Bay Area who have become dear to me. For all of that I am grateful. He will be sorely missed. Here's one of my favorite mixes of his. May he rest in peace.  <3
