Walk in the woods #05 - Mixed by Jelly For The Babies

Artist Info:
Lunar Plane was founded by identical twin brothers, Emre & Mert Altinok. They discovered their passion for producing music while developing an electronic music streaming platform in 2014. Born in Istanbul, the brothers were on the national swimming team and attended Yale University where they studied biomedical engineering and economics.

After signing a downtempo EP with Solomun’s label 2DIY4, Lunar Plane became the focus of the Altinok brothers. Fueled by their strong academic background and passion for music, the twins experimented with melodic techno, progressive house and electronica. As they discovered their unique style, the brothers produced a signature sound of emotional ethnic melodies accompanied by strong driving basslines, organic groovy drums, and deep ritualistic vocals.

As a result, more than 40 of their tracks charted globally. Eleven of these tracks were listed in Beatport’s Top 10 charts, and their tracks Olappa, Seraglio and their remix for Oliver Koletzki’s ‘Fire In The Jungle’ have made it to #1 on Beatport in their respective genres. In less than 5 years, Lunar Plane has become one of the most prominent artists in the electronic music scene. 

With strong releases on labels such as Oliver Koletzki’s Stil vor Talent, Solee’s Parquet, Moscoman’s Disco Halal and Just Emma’s Underyourskin Records, the twins captivated many dance-floors across the globe, including Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne, Stuttgart, Los Angeles, Miami, Washington, Seattle, Beirut, Bali, Doha, Moscow, Kiev, Athens, Istanbul and Cairo.

Georges Bousaleh, also known as GBS, is a DJ, producer, and radio host whose career began at the young age of 14. He hosted a show in 2013 on DI.FM with his international debut in 2016 in Marbella, Ibiza, Switzerland, Athens, Munich, Cyprus, and Beirut. Having released on labels like Suffused Music and Guy Mantzur’s Plantenbank Records, he founded his own imprint & promo label, Toka Musik, in 2017. It initially began as a podcast entitled Toka Radio and later expanded by featuring and interviewing world renowned selectors from Boris Brejcha, Stimming, Solee, Nakadia and Soul Button, to name a few.

Nineth episode of my B2B space. This time with Aormos! Although he play more in SC, I want to welcome my countryman. From Spain, I would like to present you to this great and talented DJ. He is a exquisite DJ with a refined technic. Is a great honor for me to can share this new collaboration with his and with all of you. I hope you like it and have fun!

AorMos began as a DJ when he was 15 years of age and enjoyed playing electronic music more than two decades. In the beginning he was playing with the nearest sounds to the scene of House, to give a jump to Minimal at the end of 2000. And that year he got interested all the slopes of Techno, from its purer roots, spinning the more melodic vibes, deep sounds, and progressive aspects and looking always at producers and record labels that offer great quality in their productions.

In his DJ sets AorMos likes to realize the very supported and elegant mixtures of the tracks, and that the whole set has going and return of emotions, and that the energy does not decline in the session. And this way to be able to transmit a good trip of emotions.

Julie spent much of her childhood in her father’s recording studio, and this musical passion transferred from one generation to the next. As a teen, Julie discovered her passion for electronic music; since that time, her tastes are wide-ranging, from Techno to Deep House, to Progressive to Atmospheric DnB. In these strange times i'm fortunate to present you my next guest with a fantastic mix. Emotive and strong melodies that get you carried away. Please welcome Gefangen Intrance, good friend and DJ from Germany.

Gefangen Intrance aka Toko, short for his real name Torsten Koths, started collecting cassettes in his early childhood and later switched to vinyl. What started with cellar parties in the parents' home, evolved into an adult age to hang up in the NRW Clubscene as well as in the trendy Poison Club at the Dusseldorf main station. He was most influenced by the New Wave era and the then Scene Club Tribehouse in Neuss.
This time he experienced with one of his best friends. Together in the club scene they were trapped in music and in a trance. After his boyfriend died in 2010, Toko decided to change his name to Gefangen Intrance. As it was a great desire of the two to make music together, Toko decided for a fundamental change and brought the site gefangen Intrans to life . His passion and devotion to music is greater today than ever. With each set, he wants to tell us a story and take us on a journey through space and time.

For my last guest this year i'm honored to present you a very talented and young producer from Holland, Joël Martina.

Joël has enjoyed mainstream electronic music from the tender age of 12, but it wasn’t until his brother took him to a festival that he discovered techno. He recalls watching Ame & Egbert playing at the time, being mesmerised by the detail and expression of the music. This first techno experience had him sold.
As with many young electronic music producers Joël is self taught, although he is very grateful to ‘Love Over Entropy’ from whom he learnt a lot within a short frame of time. Taking his inspiration from labels such as Afterlife, Steyoyoke & Awen Records, Joël has carefully crafted his own signature sound, combining complex drum patterns with dark textures and melodies.
His goal is to always tell a story through his tracks, with the aim of them being enjoyed both on & off the dancefloor.
Joël released several EP's on sequence music and Duenia Records this year.

Hosting DeepMoods podcast series since june 2020.

It was New Wave and Alternative Rock that drew Digmin into the underground music scene and still today, both styles of music inspire him a good deal. In 1995, electronic music revealed itself at Brussels’ old school club ‘Fuse’ and techno was glued to his musical taste. An amazing set played by Hernan Cattaneo at Liverpool Cathedral in 2011 was the real eye-opener: electronic music and Digmin’s musical background could be merged. It was called Progressive. Right there, electronic music turned into a passion.
 
In 2017, this passion finally turned into the first steps of creating a sound of his own. He started by listening obsessively to tracks and taught himself to mix a set. Well-known producers or small, unknown labels, it didn’t matter at all. Tracks simply have to resonate with those emotions he wants to express. From dark and gloomy to warm and hypnotic, he is looking for that exceptional sound. A sound that embodies his craving for deep underground music.
 
A couple of months later, he shared his first sets on soundcloud with progressive house. Many more followed with the accent on progressive and later also on melodic Techno. No expectations or blind ambition, just sharing his love for great sets that carry you along to deep, ecstatic, and mind-shifting sensations.
