After deciding a few years ago to pull back from playing live shows, I've been on my own personal journey with music. Going deep into musical theory, learning to play an instrument properly and expanding my music collection to a size that massively out weights anything I had while I was Djing as my regular gig. Sourcing and experimenting with all music styles and trying to figure out a way to get them to work together musically has reignited my love of music and Djing and got me back to the roots of why I started to do it in the first place.

Chasing a music career is a double-edged sword. On one side, it gives so much and — on the other — weighs you down. As people tend to follow and love what you do, it can start to hamper you musically as the weight of expectation starts to mess with your head. Taking some time off has allowed me to focus on myself again, play music because I love it and not let anything else get in the way.

This mix is an embodiment of that process, and one that I thoroughly enjoyed doing.

Pushing phat, driving broken beat sounds for over a decade, DiiSTORTiiON has had plenty of experience playing at clubs and gigs across Australia and abroad. Having multiple national tours under his belt and having shared the stage regularly with some of the biggest names in broken beat music, DiiSTORTiiON is no stranger to the decks.
His roots firmly planted in Breakbeat, DiiSTORTiiON pulls influences from across the electronic music spectrum in both his production and live performances. A hybrid sound of drum driven electronic music has seen him rise in popularity within the international and local Broken Beat scene, both in the music charts and in the live arena.

His original music has received strong support from all over the broken beat community including the mighty Crystal Method, who have used his music in may of their live and promo mixes. This lead them to invite him to do a guest mix on their “Community Service” Radio show on SiriusXM.

On the Djing front, DiiSTORTiiON has shared the stage all over Australia and overseas with some of dance music’s biggest names including – Noisia, Chase & Status, Netsky, Pretty Lights, Krafty Kuts, Stanton Warriors and many more.
