Lunatic Love Songs 9 For Red Bull Radio - Teutonic Funk

Last week marked the announcement of a new release on Ransom Note affiliated sub label, Bytes. It has been met with huge support and praise as the infamous Andy Bell, better known for his work as part of seminal group RIDE, will release a new cassette under the alias of GLOK. It will be his first venture into the world of electronic music and marks a left turn from his previous shoegaze association. The album is titled "Dissident" and features seven stunning instrumental tracks taking in electronica, Detroit techno, Krautrock, ambient, John Carpenter soundtracks and Balearic influences. 

The bulk of the tracks on ‘Dissident’ were slipped out anonymously a couple of years ago, until Andy finally broke cover to reveal that he was the man twiddling the knobs in an interview with Clash in May 2017.

“I didn’t want people to be hearing the first tunes with a picture of me, a middle-aged guitarist, in their heads,” he explained. “I wanted the music to exist outside of any preconceptions, at least for a few months.” 

With the release forthcoming and due to hit the stores on July 5th, we felt now was perhaps a perfect moment to allow Andy to showcase some of his own influences from the realm of electronic music and beyond. 

He delivers a Monday mix with fine style and we'd expect no less.

GLOK: The 'Monday Is Okay' Mix

New mix comes from Luca Venezia aka Curses, dj/producer based in Berlin.
In the game for more than ten years with an ep in 2007 on Institubes, he set up his label "Safer At Night" in 2014 and slowly but surely got a wider exposure with nice releases on Bordello A Parigi, Let's Play House, Throne Of Blood, Wrong Era, Tusk Wax or Dischi Autunno (sublabel of Correspondant).
Now an established and revered name in the underground, he recently created another label called Ombra and added a dope live-act as alternative option to his skilled dj-sets. Enjoy the journey !

Freshly moved to Berlin

DJ Dildoking, hailing from the South of France, embarked on his musical journey back in 1999. Starting with vinyl and delving into the realms of techno and tech house, he showcased his evolving talents. In 2005, Dildoking made his way to Paris, where he transitioned into the enchanting world of deep house.

His musical prowess found a home in collectives such as "Cancan Collective" where he collaborated with the likes of Maxime Iko. Later, he became an integral part of the "La Petite Maison Electronique" collective, contributing his unique sound to the electronic music scene.

Dildoking's residency at "Gouter de Nuit" marked a pivotal moment in his career. It was during this time that the enigmatic project known as "Dildoking" emerged, characterized by its dark disco and dark electro influences. With a diverse musical journey spanning over two decades, DJ Dildoking continues to captivate audiences with his ever-evolving and intriguing sonic explorations.
