Welcome back to the Magician On Duty Journey Series!

On this edition we welcome Dominik Steffan (@dominiksteffan)

From an early age, Dominik Steffan was captivated by music, deeply moved by its enchanting power. With unwavering support from his family and friends, he embarked on various projects and began learning instruments such as the E-Bass and synthesizer. 

Even before joining a band and playing his first gigs, he had a fervent passion for collecting diverse genres of music, with electronic music occupying a significant part of his collection, a passion that still burns brightly. The positive feedback he received for the carefully curated playlists he prepared for different gatherings sowed the seeds of smoothly blending tracks together and creating a harmonious atmosphere.

During his younger years, he played at local events, much like most aspiring DJs starting out. However, as other aspects of life demanded attention, DJing gradually took a backseat and eventually came to a halt. After spending nearly two years in a spiritual journey of self-discovery, exploring new horizons and embracing different experiences, Dominik found himself in Leipzig, where he once again reconnected with his passion for creating music. 

It was during this time that he rediscovered fulfillment and felt an overwhelming urge to share his creations with the people around him.
His sets always seek to harmonize with the atmosphere, aiming to cultivate flow and connection on the dance floor.

Right now he’s about creating a new project together with close friends named: inner truth to share that love for music with others.

About James:

Hailing from somewhere deep in the shadows of the Dallas underground this veteran artist, with nearly two decades of existence in the scene, is no stranger to orchestrating dance floors into a late night mind f*&k. Influenced by dank dark warehouses and all night marathon sets, his weapons of choice have been known to focus primarily on minimal and techno. Beginning his exploration of electronic sound in the late 90's, he then spent the next 7 years hypnotized by his love for vinyl. During this time of experimenting with almost every source of music available to him, he always leaned toward the darker side of sound, finally finding his home with dark minimal and techno. In early to mid 2010, he decided that producing his own music was the only way to go deeper into his own thoughts and express himself as an artist. After finally making material available to the public, he was immediately signed with Kontrol Records Rome and Mischkonsum Records of Stuttgart, Germany. His debut release "The Spell EP" and follow up releases "The Seven Year Detour EP" and "Time Machine EP" quickly seated themselves amongst some of the genre's elite at #17, #7 and #49 respectively on “Beatport’s Top Minimal 100" in 2012. His efforts have landed him gigs all over North America and abroad. Multiple appearances in NYC, also Washington, DC; Vancouver, BC; Berlin, Germany; Zadar, Croatia; Bangkok, Thailand; Hong Kong, China; San Francisco, Denver, Austin, and Shreveport just to name a few. Pulling double duties as a promoter, he also curates and hosts his own events under the name SOURCE 20/20 in Dallas where he currently resides. This project has brought some of the most influential artists in techno to the Dallas underground community. Most recently hosting two Official Movement Pre-Parties in 2014 and 2016. He is constantly locked in the lab formulating a unique brew of sounds ranging from haunting and deep, dark and moody, to twisted and diabolic so prepare yourself to get lost in an audio journey into the depths of your own mind.


About Littlz:
Littlz, a relatively fresh face to the DJ circuit, made her jump from the dance floor to the decks around 2012. This proved to be a seamless transition as she had gained extensive knowledge of electronic sound at an early age while living in Chicago. After moving to the Dallas area in the 90’s, she became heavily involved in the culture by frequenting clubs, underground parties, and also traveling the globe to witness some of the finest talents in the house and techno scene. This love for the underground sound made for a solid foundation to which her broad range of taste and ability to work a dance floor is built upon. She’s quickly made a name for herself with her signature blend of deep house, tech house and minimal. These efforts have earned her gigs at some of the most notable parties in the country. These include regular guest appearances in her home base of Dallas, NYC, Denver, Austin, San Antonio, Shreveport, and also at the infamous Burning Man in Black Rock City, Nevada. In spite of a regular gig schedule, Littlz also pulls double duties as a promoter hosting top tier talent in Dallas, and contributes as one half of the techno duo Dim Lights.
