Two Hospital Records titans collide! Metrik & Grafix join forces for a highly anticipated collaboration after the success of their hugely popular track ‘Parallel’, released on Metrik’s third studio album ‘Ex Machina’. The pair got to work in Devon Analogue Studios combining their production precision and unmatchable energy to deliver an exhilarating drum & bass powerhouse anthem. With over 23 years combined of supplying huge dancefloor classics like ‘Tension’, ‘Fatso’, ‘Radiance’ and more, you can be sure that the alliance of Metrik & Grafix elevate their sound into unchartered sonic territory.

Otherworldly synth riffs carve out a pathway for Metrik’s own vocals to trailblaze through, whilst crisp snare hits and electrifying atmospheres crescendo into an invigorating state of Overdrive. Resonant bass wobbles and thunderous drum hits are the clear product of Metrik & Grafix’s creative collaboration. The duo’s rock and hip-hop influences become ever more apparent in the breakdown as halftime breaks and nostalgia-fuelled guitars, played in by Grafix, step into the forefront. There's a storm on the horizon. For those that know what's up in the bass-heavy music scene, the forthcoming Tantrum Desire album, “Diversified”, is one of the most anticipated releases of 2015. You just need to check recent sets and radio shows from heavy-hitters like Friction, DJ Hype and Drumsound & Bassline Smith to see that cuts from the LP are already making their presence felt.

And now here's “Oblivion”, the single that shows just how monumental the Tantrum Desire sound has become.

This track encapsulates multiple sides to that sound. The intro is pure seduction, with a slick rhythm section of bass plucks, laid-back drumming and piano chords under the light and grace of Solah's vocals. As an edge of percussive hardness creeps into her voice, all of a sudden the energy builds and it's clear there's a switch-up coming. Then the drop delivers that to full capacity, cutting through the smoky atmosphere with high-energy synth hits and the type of call and response between bass and mid-range that mark this out as pure Tantrum Desire.

The breakdown gives us yet another facet, as jungle breaks float in and around the piano and vocals to offer gratitude to the old skool. Then there's a second drop to put it all together, showcasing weighty bass, euphoric high-end and a deftly technical approach to delivering the chord changes.

“Oblivion” is Tantrum Desire in concentrated form, a lethal dose of musicianship, ultra-clean production skills, respect for their D&B heritage and dancefloor hype. This is a killer which is immediately going to find its place across raves and airwaves. Check it, and hold tight because the album “Diversified” has a lot more where that came from.

Making his debut last year as one of Viper’s newest and most exciting signings, Jack Mirror first made waves on the label with ‘Assimilate’ as part of 2019’s Annual. Since then, singles ‘Utopia/Reset’ and ‘Pressure/This Lie ft. Voicians’ have turned more than a few heads – all with good reason.

Forging a unique place for himself within the drum & bass scene with his signature dystopian style, there’s no surprise label head Futurebound was determined to sign Jack Mirror after hearing early demos. Now, entering 2020 in a big way, Jack Mirror returns to Viper, this time with the euphoric dancefloor anthem ‘Oculus’ alongside German producer Champion. The Hamburg based producer who has a number of notable releases and infamous bootlegs, has decided to call time on his d&b moniker to focus on family life, and what a track to wrap it up with.

A cinematic intro pulls the listener in with intrigue and suspense, delicately building in energy and fervour while maintaining a certain sense of mystery. As the track unfolds, strong vocals add to the intrigue. Vibrant synths transform the track into an emotive dancefloor number while that sense of mystery still remains prevalent – the track is simultaneously catchy and enigmatic, telling a story and transporting the listener to a dystopian landscape crafted by Jack Mirror & Champion.
