OBSCUUR welcomes West Yorkshire’s BUTCHABOI with her new EP CAN U FEEL IT? — a straight shot of organ-driven Speed Garage with a nod to the late ’90s underground. Heavy basslines, punchy percussion and rave-tinged pianos collide with soulful hooks, built to work just as hard in sweaty basements as on high-energy playlists.

The EP pulls from the roots of UK Garage but pushes it forward: CAN U FEEL IT? and DOWN WITH ME are her take on the sound she fell for, built to lift the crowd and keep the floor moving from first drop to last kick.

In just four years, BUTCHABOI has carved her place in the UK scene, moving from underground edits to bass-heavy anthems that DJs rinse on repeat. Her bootlegs and originals cut deep — with her “Sweet Dreams” remix alone clocking over 300k streams on SoundCloud. Behind the decks, she’s taken that same raw energy to stages like Parklife Festival, Ghosts of Garage, Cirque du Soul and Warped Events.

This EP marks her OBSCUUR debut — and a step further into the next wave of Speed Garage.

Jono Ma (of Jagwar Ma) and Angus Gruzman (of Dreems, Die Orangen) present “The Dreemas”. Recorded between their studios in industrial North London and the rogue outskirts of Berlin, The Dreemas is an electronic cryogenic stasis of two life-long friends in varying states of crisis, conversion and transcendence in the year 2017. 

Two minds and hearts coalesced into an ocean of sound, the groundwork formed with over a decade of instinctive studio sessions, sweat-riddled DJ conferences, and shoulder-to-shoulder dance dos in clubs, pubs and dusty down under doofs. They’ve spent endless hours together at the bottom of salty oceans gazing up at alien aquatic life forms. For years they’ve shared synthesisers across continents, exchanged records, lived together, flown together and bleed together. And at long last they have signed a contract that says they will “techno together”. The past presents the future, and the future presents the past on this soul-state snapshot of 2 friends encapsulated in the epoch of a 12”.

Iron Curtis will release his second solo album later this month and we're premiering this especially deep and moody cut that instantly caught our ears on a first listen. Boorang is taken from “Upstream Color” and will come out via Ripperton’s Tamed Musiq imprint.

The album definitely lives up to its name. A vibrant, 12-track collection of mesmerising house threaded together by lush, beatless vignettes, it’s the producer’s most cohesive work to date and is replete with special moments and nourishing sounds.

Gorgeous stuff from @lukasoppenheimer on @suol here. The deepest of deep house, sub-aquatic stuff. Womb-like sine sub bass tones are spaciously deployed amidst haunting pad chords, slightly trippy FX crunches and chugging cymbal rides. Soothing stuff.
