Notorious in the Montreal’s underground Hip Hop scene for their exciting new sound, emerging beatmakers Beatlicka and Fivepee – collaboratively known as Dimepeace – are releasing their first project ‘Maybe It’s Us’ on Sunday March 1st 2015. After topping the charts crafting bangers and hits for many of Montreal's sought out emcees, Dimepeace breaks us off a little something for the beat heads, those people on the bus with the big headphones. Tracing their roots back to the simpler, more authentic times of the great Madvillain (Madlib & MF Doom) and J Dilla, to whom they pay homage in dedicated tracks, Beatlicka and Fivepee present us with a rich new take on classic golden era boom bap flavored instrumentals, hard neck breaking beats and soulful jazzy jams. Breaking with the trend of dusting hip-hop, ‘Maybe It’s Us’ leaves no one out.

Après plusieurs années à gagner en notoriété sur la scène hiphop underground montréalaise, Beatlicka et Fivepee, les deux membres fondateurs de Dimepeace, nous offrent le premier fruit de leur collaboration, l'album Maybe It’s Us, le dimanche 1er mars. Un savant mélange d'instrumentaux aux goûts classiques boom bap, golden era, 90s. Un son pur, idéal pour tous les vrais fans de hiphop. L'album passe par de gros beats sale qui cassent le cou jusqu'à des grooves plus soul et jazz hypnotisants. Ce projet n'oublie pas ses influences, comme Jay Dilla et Madvillain (Madlib et MF Doom), chaque artiste se voyant dédié un morceau . Après avoir produit plusieurs hits pour des artistes Montréalais qui ont dominé des sites locaux comme HHQC, Beatlicka et Fivepee nous partagent leur travail qui va régaler les adeptes du beat, un véritable repas complet pour les mordus urbains. Dans un monde où le hiphop a perdu beaucoup de son charme, Maybe It's Us nous ramène en arrière, à une époque plus simple et authentique.
