Accelerate [Tronic]

Techno legend Christian Smith is back with his first EP at VOLTA. He takes care of the fifth EP with his usual compelling style. The Tronic label head needs little introduction as a mainstay of the underground for the past 20 years. There is little he hasn't done and now he shows he still has fresh sounds up his sleeve each time.

One Giant Consciousness is an all consuming cut with rumbling kick drums and earth shattering bass. The hi hats are razor sharp and cosmic vocals add extra intergalactic energy. Dreamer then brings on a deeper sound with sustained chords hypnotising your mind. The majestic melodic patterns then begin to fall from the stars as you gaze on in wonder and march to the beat.

This is a powerful offering from Smith.

One Giant Consciousness

Christian Smith had the pleasure to remix one of his all-time favorite rave tracks produced by Belgian techno innovator, CJ Bolland.

Christian Smith revisited one of the most famous hooks in techno, the melody taken from the computer game "Lazy Jones", made for the Commodore C64 in 1984. The main version is a peak-time festival pleaser, whereas the House version does just the same but more groovy and slower. Christian has been playing this for over a year in his sets and had amazing feedback! We will be giving these mixes away for free!  Enjoy!

Deetron is one of the most respected producers of his time. From sleek house to deep techno, he brings impeccable sound designs and melodic elegance to his work while remaining true to his authentic signature sound. He always delivers, whether landing via labels like Ilian Tape under his Soulmate guise or via the likes of Axis and Music Man, and that quality is on show once again as he brings the class on this new EP via the sub-label of SHDW's Mutual Rytm.

First up, 'Translate Rhythms' layers jazzy, de-tuned melodies into a quick and slick deep techno groove. It's a colourful and playful sound with a serious impact. 'Cause' is a more heads-down and moody sound with walls of drums and bass rolling beneath raw percussive loops and tight vocal stabs that ramp up the energy levels. The fantastic 'Move' brings grainy pads, inescapable bass weight and bulky drum loops to make for an immovable wedge of serious concrete techno funk. Last is the digital bonus cut 'Orbit', which heads off to the stars with a deep- space vibe, swirling pads and minimal drums that tap out a rumbling groove.

Being supported by big names such as Enrico Sangiuliano, Sama’ Abdulhadi, Wehbba and Victor Ruiz himself, this tune made so much fuzz at Time Warp, Awakenings, Tomorrowland and so many other epic festivals and venues.
