A 7-hour set recording from Kölsch. Need we say more?

Remember that summer post-lockdown in 2021? Spirits were high, the weather was good, music has resumed and the energy across the city was unmatched. We were back, and we couldn’t have been happier. 

It was also the summer Kölsch returned following the non-clubbing hiatus the world found themselves in, and it ending up being a seriously special all-night long set in Room 1 whilst Franky Wah meanwhile was taking the reins in Room 2. Now, two years later, we’ve dived into our vaults to dig out the *entirety* of that very set that we can all enjoy all over again. 

Cast your minds and ears back to August 2021 and enjoy the full 7 hour recording from the club, ahead of the Danish house and techno stalwart’s return this coming Friday for another special extended set, promising a melodic and tantalising journey through his signature, groundbreaking, and genre-defining selections.

Kölsch plays in Room 1 for an extended set on Friday 11th August alongside Jasper Tygner, Sarah Story & more. Tickets:

DANNY TENAGLIA ▪ 909 FESTIVAL 2024

On September 13 2024 l played an extra long set at the birthday of my late friend Jan Nagtegaal, also know as Jan Fab. Jan was an iconic and beautiful person loved by many in Amsterdam and far beyond. The memorial night was very special and meaningful to me. l would like to share the last part of the recording of my set with you. Hope you enjoy it.

Saturday November 16 was a very special night. l played a three hour back to back set with my longtime friend and brother Carl Craig in Het Sieraad in Amsterdam. Doing this with Carl was a great honour. It was an amazing rollercoaster ride and so much fun.

Innovator of Hi-Tech-Soul. 

The music career of Dimitri Kneppers (1967), generally known as ‘Dimitri’, reads like an encyclopaedia. A Dutch encyclopaedia, that is. After  nearly 40 years of spinning records you could call him a true veteran, known for his enormous sensitivity, true feeling and mixing skills.

Dimitri starts his deejay career in clubs by the age of 17. 

In 1988 he obtains a residency at the legandary RoXY in Amsterdam and becomes one of the pioneers of house music in The Netherlands.

His HTSM (Hi-Tech-Soul Movement) nights draws clubbers from all over the globe to hear his own unique style of music and mixing techniques. 

By 1991 he spins at all the major (warehouse) parties in The Netherlands, Belgium and Italy.

He releases his first records and starts his own label Be.S.T. (Beautiful Soul Techno). 

From 1992 onwards he continues to take over the world with gigs from Tokyo to Australia, Paris to Peru and residences at Twilo in New York and Ibiza.

In 2007 Dimitri takes a 3 year sabbatical (after playing non-stop for 23 years), trading the club scene for life on a farm and voluntary work with children with learning disabilities. 

In 2010 he returns with his ‘All Night Long’ residency at the legandary club Trouw Amsterdam, one of the best venues in Europe.  

In 2013 he suffers from a life threatening bacterial infection and loses his right underleg. But he is back at the desks in Trouw in only 5 months, proving that music has the power to heal, one of his strong inner beliefs.

Today Dimitri plays in clubs and at festivals all over Europe.
At Amsterdam’s number one venue Thuishaven he finds his new residency for his infamous 10 hour storytelling sets, taking the crowd on a journey through a wide range of energetic, spacious, melodic and hypnotic musicstyles. 

As a producer Dimitri (Kneppers) is always working on new music.
He releases on labels like KMS, Planet E Communications Detroit and Metrohm.
