It has been a long time since the last EP by Dimitri Monev on Alboratory. Now, he is coming back with another two-track release - number 30 on the label's catalogue. The inspiration that he gets from his trips, parties and good vibes are illustrated in his music. Keeping good memories and then expressing them in production is the way Dimitri produces. Whenever you listen, when you hear his tracks played, you will easily recognise his pumping style that brings you good mood. His music is exactly like him - playful. One of the tracks - "Oxygen", pumps you immediately on the dance floor with groovy melodic bass lines while the percussion game forms the rhythm of this bijou. The original version is coming with a remix by Synkrone. His interpretation is accompanied by smooth bass line and rhythmic percussion all over the place. These fit perfectly to the background deep pads which complete the summer beat of the track. On another side we have the second original named Who's Comin'. Dimitri provides us with a liquid vibe because of the track's elements. Sounds shambling & hell-bent because of the bass line which is accompanied with sequencing sounds all the way and well-balanced percussions touch make this track a rocking one from the beginning to the end. Last but not least, Blagoj Rambabov provides a version that is more stripped down, groovy and deep.

It's the culmination of what has been a roller coaster debut year: the eponymous debut album by the phenomenal Vienna duo HVOB is a lesson in how versatile, intelligent and creative electronic music can be.

It's been just twelve months since the first snippets appeared on Soundcloud, during which time the young electronic duo HVOB (short for Her Voice over Boys) have been causing a real stir throughout Europe: "… this is what deep house sound should sound like. Pure love …" (hmwl.org, Sweden), "… sure to be spoken about …" (delicieuse-musique.com, France), "More please, and soon!" (thegap.at, Austria), "… sleek and beautifully crafted beats …" (electronicbeats.net, Germany). 

HVOB have been a hit with the most influential music blogs and with the public: acclaimed appearances at the likes of Germany’s MELT! Festival, number 4 in the Beatport Deep House charts with their debut EP "Dogs", number 10 in the Top Live Acts of the Year and number 11 in the Best Singles of 2012 in DE:BUG’s readers' poll. At the end of 2012, leading Lebanese fashion designer Elie Saab used HVOB's music for the soundtrack of his collection video.

Vienna-born Anna Müller (composition, production, vocals) and Paul Wallner (composition and final production) are kicking off the second year of their collaborative project with another release, only this time with more than just tantalising snippets: their eagerly anticipated debut LP, "HVOB", released March 8, contains twelve tracks that showcase the duo's distinctive sound – intelligent and sophisticated, emotive and melodic. 

The opening track "Hold Your Horses" could be a signature tune for HVOB: organic beats, soft piano sounds and Anna Müller's stunning voice give way to compelling deep house. Further highlights of the album: scheduled for release in February, the single "Jack" with its emotive beats, the complex electronic ballad "Fog Machine", and "Always Like This", HVOB's interpretation of the track by British indie rock band Bombay Bicycle Club.

Looking back, there was never any doubt that music would take a special place in Dimitri’s life. Growing up in the Balkans during the post-communist era, his first crucial step came in 2004, when he purchased his first piece of professional DJ equipment. From that moment on, creating a buzz on the dancefloor became second nature. After several years of performing mainly at private parties and after-hour gatherings, Dimitri decided it was time to step onto a bigger stage. Within just a few years, his popularity began to rise rapidly, earning him recognition as one of the leading figures in Bulgaria’s new wave of electronic music artists.

Around 2008, Dimitri Monev opened a new chapter in his musical journey. Influenced by the deep, dark beats of old-school hip-hop, he began expressing his personal thoughts and emotions through his own productions. Aimed squarely at the dancefloor, his third EP, Casper, was released by the Berlin-based label Waldliebe Familien and received strong support from industry heavyweights such as Richie Hawtin, Fabrizio Maurizi, and Steve Lawler. His subsequent releases continued to attract the attention of trendsetting DJs like Marco Carola, Luciano, Steve Bug, Shlomi Aber, Gel Abril, and Scuba.

Musik ist die Kunst, welche durch geordnete Tonverbindungen die Seele bewegt und dem auffassenden Geiste ästhetische Luft gewährt, jenes durch ihren Inhalt, dieses durch ihre Form.
Der Inhalt der Musik besteht zunächst, äusserlich betrachtet, in den Gegensätzen und Veränderungen der Tonhöhe, Tonstärke und Geschwindigkeit der Tonfolge, welche mit elementarer Gewalt die Seele des Hörers ergreifen und bewegen, ähnlich wie sie in Affekten bewegt wird. Da die Musik ebensolchen Bewegungen der Seele des Komponisten ihre Entstehung verdankt, so ist sie zu bezeichnen als ein Abbild dieser Bewegungen, als Ausdruck der (in Begriffe nicht zu bannenden) Seelenbewegungen des Komponisten.
Die Form der Musik besteht in der übersichtlichen Ordnung der Tonhöhenveränderungen und Tonmischungen mittels Beschränkung derselben auf eine kleine Zahl, die zueinander in leichtverständlichen Verhältnissen stehen, sowie in der Ordnung der Tonstärkeveränderungen und der Veränderungen der Geschwindigkeit der Tonfolge mittels Einhaltung einer leicht verfolgbaren Gliederung der Zeit in gleiche Abschnitte. In der ersteren Ordnung beruht das Wesen der Harmonie, in der letzteren das des Rhythmus.
Lehrbar ist in der Musik vor allem das Formale: Harmonie und Rhythmus. Betreffs des Inhalts, d. h. für die Gestaltung bedeutsamer Ideen, lassen sich durch eingehende Analysierung des Wesens der obengenannten elementaren Faktoren allgemeine Gesichtspunkte gewinnen, welche für den Künstler und Kunstfreund wertvoll und fruchtbar werden können. Solche Analysen gehören in die Philosophie der Musik, die musikalische Ästhetik Rhythmus und Harmonie dagegen sind die beiden Hauptzweige der eigentlichen praktischen Kunstlehre; doch muss deren Betrachtung die Unterweisung in den Anfangsgründen der musikalischen Zeichenlehre vorausgehen, d. h. zu allererst muss man vollständig Bescheid wissen mit der Art, wie musikalische Gedanken mittels allgemein angenommener Zeichen niedergeschrieben werden.
