ft. the Belgian ‘Red Devils’ Score with ‘Melody’, the official UEFA 2016 anthem

In October, Belgium's national ‘Red Devils’ earned a place at the 2016 UEFA European Championship in France. After the match at the King Baudouin Stadium, the world's best DJs, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike performed a sensational DJ set. 

And as it turns out, that was only a taste of things to come. Because the Belgian DJ-duo also composed the official Euro 2016 anthem, ‘Melody’.  At the request of the Red Devils and the Royal Belgian Football Association, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike got busy in the studio to create the Belgian Euro 2016 anthem. But they weren't alone. They were joined by international top DJs Steve Aoki and Ummet Ozcan. The result is ‘Melody’. It's a strong anthem that will inspire our Red Devils to perform at their best in France. 

The video clip was created by director Adil El Arbi. You may have spotted him recently around Antwerp, where he filmed a part of the clip. It promises to be a film with an urban look and feel.  And a sorely needed dose of positive energy for us Belgians.

The collaboration came about after both acts met up on the global festival circuit throughout 2012. Creative emails flew back and forth across Europe before the trio finally settled on the skeleton of ‘Mammoth’ as a potential new track. Speaking about the collaboration from his studio in Germany, MOGUAI said, “The track is not so far away from my own solo work. I said to myself, with the right mix this could be something huge, so we got into the studio together and at the end, we had the finished mix that you know now.”
 
A delicious slice of skewed electronica with ‘fist-pump’ written all over it, this titan of a track packs as much energy as it does technical class; crashing bass sections, warped synths and a huge breakdown combining the strengths of both production elements in one fell swoop. ‘Mammoth’ displays the extensive array of musical influences that these two world-renowned acts are constantly drawing their inspiration from, fusing everything together seamlessly for an anthem that will surely be an enormous smash in clubs and at festivals all over the world throughout 2013. After the obligatory winter release break, Axtone Records are pleased to welcome Belgian brothers & super duo Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike to the label for their debut single on Axwell's imprint.

Longtime friends of the label Dimitri & Mike have previously remixed, and it's fair to say made their own, the original Swedish House Mafia anthem 'Leave The World Behind' by Axwell, Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso and Laidback Luke, Abel Ramos's 'Rotterdam City of Love' and most recently David Tort ft Gosha 'One Look' alongside Axwell himself.

The trio of Dimitri Vegas, Like Mike and Quintino come together for their first release of 2021 on Smash the House records. ‘Back To The Oldskool’ is a combination of their many years, and various influences, following their musical passion, dance music! 

From its Thunderdrome-esque intro to the building ravey bass rumble which is ignited by Hot Streak’s iconic 1983 Body Work sample “Music Makes You Lose Control”, that’s been a prominent feature on every dancefloor imaginable. The track launches into a techno-infused dose of industrial arrangement, with faint hardcore sonics, before combining in the break and then unleashing its total might with a gusty psy-trance bassline to round up the songs trip ‘Back To The OldSkool’.

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike remained ever busy in 2020 with an impressive output of music coming from the Belgian electronic titans. From releasing singles such as ‘The Anthem’ with Timmy Trumpet and ‘Clap Your Hands’ with Fedde Le Grand and W&W, to dropping ‘Get in Trouble’ with Vini Vici. The brother also released a collaboration with Regard titled ‘Say My Name’ which currently sits at 38 million Spotify streams.
