Mexican producer JUNKIE KID is back and better than ever with his signature blend of techno, trance hardstyle and big room flavours on this brand new seismic track ‘The Chant’.

From the outset JUNKIE KID has your attention, as he introduces that choir arrangement, or ‘The Chant’, which is then present throughout. The talented producer builds to a climax at which point he bursts out in to life with an industrial sounding synthline and thumping kick drum, which add a level of energy to the serene choir sample. Over a decade on from his first official EP release in 2013 with ‘Check This EP’ on Audiophile Live Records, MR JUNKIE is still impressing in a major way with this epic release on Smash The House!

Born in Mexico, but after moving to Spain at an early age, MR JUNKIE began to fall in love with the dance genre, as he was inspired by European DJ’s of that era like Mauro Picotto, DJ Quicksilver and DJ Sammy. At the young age of 16 he started to produce his own music, mostly influenced by techno, hardstyle and dutch house sounds, a concoction he eventually coined “Neo-Hard House”. After his first EP release in 2013, JUNKIE KID has gone from strength to strength in the industry, gaining support and recognition from the likes of Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Tiesto, Hardwell, David Guetta, Afrojack, Nicky Romero and many more.

Renowned DJ and global electronic music icon, Dimitri ‘Vegas’ Thivaios, is set to reignite the magic of vinyl with the release of his latest album, "Dimitri Vegas Presents Vinyl Only – Live at Tomorrowland". With this special project, Dimitri pays homage to the origins of his career and the timeless art of DJing with vinyl, recording his entire Tomorrowland set on vinyl for this exclusive release.

Dimitri’s career began in the early ‘90s, during which he would save every bit of money to build his personal collection of vinyl. Now, with this album, the producer dives deep into the rich history of electronic music, particularly focusing on the Bonzai Records era, a label that shaped the underground sounds of techno, trance, hard trance, rave music and hardcore music.
     
 The album features 21 tracks, all carefully selected and revitalized, blending Dimitri Vegas' own remix work with exciting collaborations featuring Creeds, Per Pleks and Armin van Buuren among many others. Tracks like "Back To Earth" by Yves Deruyter, "Illegale" by The Darkman, "Calyptus" by Tranceball, "Acid Dream" by Cherrymoon Trax, and "The Age Of Love" by Age of Love are revisited in their purest form - on vinyl. Each track was chosen to capture the raw energy and nostalgia of the era, while offering a fresh, contemporary twist for today’s listeners.

At a time when DJing has become more convenient with USBs and digital files, Dimitri deliberately chose to take the harder path. By bringing vinyl back to the forefront at one of the world’s biggest festivals, Tomorrowland, Dimitri captures the raw, analogue sound that defined an era. Dimitri has captivated audiences worldwide, a recent surprise appearance by actor Vin Diesel, showcases Dimitri’s ability to keep audiences guessing. Diesel’s enthusiastic presence and participation engrossed the crowd, creating a viral moment that racked up millions of views with their genre-blending collaboration "Don't Stop The Music".

As if the album wasn’t enough, Dimitri is also hinting at a series of ‘vinyl only’ concerts next year, where fans can expect more immersive vinyl experiences.

With over 30 million social media followers and billions of music streams, Dimitri Vegas, along with his brother Like Mike, has become a global sensation. Their influence in electronic music, from chart-topping hits to collaborations with legends like David Guetta, Martin Garrix, Snoop Dogg, Tiesto, Daddy Yankee and Hans Zimmer, is undeniable. Moreover, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike have recently achieved the #3 position in the DJ Mag Top 100 for 2024.

This latest project is yet another chapter in Dimitri’s illustrious career, showcasing not just his evolution as an artist but also his reverence for the roots of DJ culture.

Junkie Kid continues to impress the masses after an impressive year, extending his run with this brand-new remix of DJ Furax’s classic hit ‘Big Orgus’ – giving the track a modernised facelift complete with tempo pitched up and the iconic synthline emphasised.

Originally releasing back in 2003 at the height of Belgian hard dance pioneer FJ Furax’s powers, ‘Big Orgus’ is known for its unmistakable synth melody and epic breakdown, to which Junkie Kid does incredibly well in re-imagining with his own high-octane twist. Junkie Kid aims to bring back the euphoria of that synthline and package it into something which works for the crowds he plays for week in, week out – a fast paced and unapologetic hard dance track.
