I've had this one recurring dream for most of my life. And I wanted to base this whole album around the chronological order of that dream.

Recurring Dreams was a labor of love, taking just over 2 years to finish. The vision behind it was to push the envelope in regards to the marriage of instrumentalism and melody, with experimental sound design and heavy bass. There is an immense range throughout the project, from dark and heavy tunes, to the beautiful and ethereal side, I wanted it to encompass the full range of emotion.

The Frost Bloom emerges as a marvel of botanical elegance, with petals that gracefully unfold in a captivating gradient. From the core, a warm orange glow deepens into a fiery red, and the edges blush with an enchanting purple. Each petal bears the delicate touch of frost, as if the flower itself captures the essence of winter's breath. At its heart, a radiant core flickers like a captured ember, emanating an otherworldly luminosity that defies the chill of the surrounding Swomp.

How to Find:

Discovering the Frost Bloom requires a communion with the ancient spirits that guard the mystical Swomp. As winter blankets the land in frost, the flower remains hidden, protected by eldritch enchantments. Seekers must navigate the intricate marshes, guided by the subtle whispers of the spirits, revealing the flower only to those with a pure heart and a profound connection to the Swomp's mystical energies.

The Frost Bloom, flourishes in close proximity to the ancient "Gelidrial Stones." These mystical stones, scattered throughout the heart of the Swomp, emit a faint, soothing hum, resonating with the natural energies that awaken the Frost Bloom during the winter months. Seekers should navigate towards the subtle melody of these stones, for their proximity marks the sacred grounds where the elusive flower reveals its breathtaking beauty. The Gelidrial Stones act as both protectors and conduits, channeling the latent magic of the swamp to nurture the Frost Bloom's ephemeral existence. Approach with reverence. Attune to the harmonic vibrations, and the Frost Bloom shall unveil itself in all its resplendent glory.

Magic Powers:

The magical powers of insight bestowed by the Frost Bloom enable individuals to navigate the complexities of life with clarity. They become attuned to the natural rhythms of the world, sensing impending changes and deciphering the whispers of the mystical energies surrounding them. The flower's enchantment acts as a guide through the veiled realms of knowledge, offering glimpses into the past, present, and potential futures.

However, wielding the Frost Bloom's insight is a responsibility that demands respect and humility. The flower imparts its wisdom to those who approach with pure intentions, urging them to use the acquired knowledge for the greater good and the preservation of the delicate balance between the mystical and mortal realms.

From a dimly lit cave in Austin's own underground, Joseph Roberts, aka “Detox Unit”, has been cooking up his own blend of futuristic frequencies for the past 4 years. His aim, to make the imagination run wild; to tickle the brain in impossible ways. Originally hailing from New York, Joseph spent his childhood tinkering with old radios and building computers, fascinated bu the near endless possibilities that they presented. Inspired by artists such as Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, Monolake, and Luke Vibert, he picked up a copy of Ableton Live and a myriad of synthesizers and hasn't left his cave since. Now 4 years later Detox Unit has become a familiar and loved name in the Austin experimental music scene known for his intricately woven sets and unique productions.
