On December 26, Kyiv-based label Iriy Records releases Lowlands — a compilation that captures two years of the label’s work through experimental Ukrainian bass music. It works as both a snapshot of the scene and a link between Iriy’s earlier releases and what comes next.

The compilation brings together artists closely connected to Iriy’s journey, including Geyera, whose album Wolfram was released on the label in 2024. Rather than a showcase of isolated tracks, Lowlands feels like a shared space — different approaches to bass music tied together by a common sense of tension, texture, and low-end focus.

Pinkman stoke the furnaces of despair, fuelling them with Black Merlin. Conveyor belts grunt out resentment, cold chords curl, synthlines sneer and pallid percussion punctuates. Noise echoes above, hammered clanks exploding into shards. Below the work continues, sweat smeared stains and hissing airless gasps. In the end, all is swallowed; gulped into the gaping assembly line.

This track was made for the compilation "For Belarus". It's influenced by the events in my homeland Belarus, but also in other countries, where people refuse to give up and stay stong and brave to protect their freedom and rights. The people, which are facing violence and authoritorism but still trying to fly above this.
The track is featuring Luss, a black artist from NYC who was recently assaulted by police.
The aim of the compilation is to help the people of Belarus who have already become victims of a inhumane regime and police violence. There are already many of them and they need our help, primarily financially. All funds from the compilation (Bandcamp link below) will go directly to the Belarus Solidarity Foundation - an initiative to help Belarusians who have suffered and lost their jobs due to political repression.
