An absolute pleasure to welcome one of our heroes for this week's guest mix, the ultra prolific Jeremy Sylvester! 

Its very difficult for us to play a set without including at least one of his productions from his many different aliases. 

For his mix he's treated us to an hour of old school flavours in the bumping fashion that he's renowned for and that we love. 

The class dj and producer is still at the top of his game after over 25 years of running it!

The MoodSwing Show with Perception - 12 May 2023

DJ’ing started for me when I got my first turntables at the age of 14 in exchange for a Playstation. After being heavily influenced by cd's that my mum used to bring home which included Tuff Jam(Karl Tuff Enough Brown & Matt Jam Lamont, masters of the UK house & Garage scene)and Speed Garage Anthems cd’s I figured that this was a hobby I would show a great passion for. At the age of 19 I started to get involved with the Birmingham club scene and eventually obtained bookings at Hidden, Moon Lounge and Subway City to name a few. I also had chance to play on the pirate radio station I listened to when growing up, Silk City FM. A goal which always stuck in the back of my mind. After a good three years of spinning at clubs around Birmingham, the scene started to die down a little. It was then that I decided there wasn't much out there in terms of dance music with the boom of electro and fidget house taking over. 

After a three year break from being involved with the club scene I decided it was time to pull out the headphones again and get back on board. Playing a style consisting of US/UK House & Garage and Deep House I managed to build up my confidence again by securing residencies at 2:31, Bushwackers and FACE, all very successful parties in Birmingham. I carried on dj’ing in clubs until my early 30’s until I decided enough was enough. Nowadays I’m just a very avid lover and collector of different styles of house and garage and sometimes when I get time I love to whack a mix together for people to enjoy 😁 My passion for house and garage music will always be strong.
