Jesse Jacob - Sliding Em

Hush proudly presents its first release, a standout two-track EP from internationally renowned producer Max Chapman. Known for his ability to craft dancefloor-ready hits, Max sets the perfect tone for the labels debut with a blend of funk-inspired grooves and contemporary tech house.  The A-side, Right About Now, is a groove-driven track laced with funky basslines and uplifting rhythms. With its catchy hooks and playful energy, this tune is built to capture the spirit of a night out at Hush.  On the B-side, You Know shifts gears into a more rolling tech house groove, balancing deep, rolling basslines with crisp percussion and subtle vocal touches.  As the first release on Hushs new label, this EP sets the stage for an exciting journey ahead.

This episode hits close to home, not just because of the music, but because of the story behind it and the artist at the heart of it. This one means a lot to us. As a label that’s been growing for just over five years now, there are certain artists who’ve shaped our journey long before we even knew we’d start one. DJ Caspa @tundecas41 is one of those djs. We’ve been listening to his sets for more than a decade, long before the idea of launching this podcast series was even a thought. And if there’s one thing that’s stayed consistent all these years, it’s the sheer quality of what he delivers. But Caspa’s story runs even deeper. He picked up mixing at around the young age of 16, and from that moment on, music became a life path. Growing up during the acid house and Balearic era, the spark was lit early. His first love was Jungle Music and like any true selector, his vinyl collection exploded fast. He chased fresh sounds relentlessly, from early radio sessions in the '90s on stations like Weekend Rush, Pressure FM, Rinse FM, Unknown FM, Deja Vu, and Magic FM, all the way through to building one of the most respected Sunday shows on Rinse FM itself. Caspa lived through multiple waves of dance music, growing to a seasoned club DJ. He’s played up and down the UK and regularly traveled abroad. The sound on this podcast is 100% unreleased music from his friends in the scene. In addition to his club and radio legacy, DJ Caspa also curates his own acclaimed podcast series Upfront & Personal, known for hosting high-calibre guests such as Chris Stussy, Mr G, Djoko, Josh Butler, Anotr, Sidney Charles, Larry da Kat and many more.  It was an absolute pleasure to be invited to play at the 20th Anniversary of Shambhala Music Festival in the amazing Fractal Forest this year. Big thanks to Rich Rich and the rest of the Fractal team for putting on the best show on earth and welcoming me into the family with open arms. The set I played was by far the best time I’ve ever had on stage and feel incredibly lucky to have shared that moment with all the amazing people at Shambhala.

Lopez D - New Year New Myx (One Take Sessions)

This is the set I played at Es Vedra, in Buenos Aires, on Jan 19, 2019-- my debut at a nightclub. The only way I can describe that night is that It was magical. I've never played on a system like that before and the response from the crowd was electric. Unfortunately, the audio was not recorded, so I re-recorded the set track-for-track on my XDJ-RX2. It's not the same playing on a controller and a bluetooth speaker vs. a set of nexus' and god know how many watts, but I gave it a shot. Thanks for listening!
