BUMPS Love Burn 2-14-2025 Part 1

I’m finally getting around to posting this home recording of my set from last summer’s Starbelly Jam in Crawford Bay, BC. It was cut short by a force majeure—a summer electrical storm that rolled in just minutes after I started. Thankfully, this minor weather glitch had zero impact on the overall execution of a magically curated weekend featuring an epic performance by Chali 2na, followed by Mark Farina rocking the stage the following night.

This inclusive, intimate, all-ages festival has a special vibe and deep roots in the East Shore Kootenay scene. I’m grateful it has been revived after a few years on pause and hope it continues to thrive for the community.

In recent years, I’ve had the pleasure of contributing in small ways—helping with artist bookings and witnessing the evolution of lineup curation. Hosting artist friends and experiencing something so uniquely family-oriented has been incredibly rewarding. It’s all about love, appreciation, and paying it forward for the next generation. Thank you to Amanda Ruppe Holland for inviting me to play to contribute:) I am happy to finally post this as promised;)

I'ma Light You on Fiyaah!

Such a blast opening for Beat Kitty! My favorite sets are ones that have a bit of a challenge or a twist, and this one was a great exercise at transitioning from bangin' house to deeper bass-y grooves. Life stuff is making it so I can't go out as much as I used to, so I really appreciated the opportunity to play for such a warm and fun crowd, and to reconnect with my burner fam. Can't wait till next time :)

A little over a year ago I was in a period of soul searching. I needed something to listen to to let my brain zone out, do yoga, exercise, go on walks, etc. I put this mini-mix together in short order and it has become my go to. I figure if it's good enough for me to listen to 100 times maybe its time to release it. I have a deep abiding love for Underworld and today I pass it on to you. Enjoy!

Deckard - My Definition of Chill Underworld Edition

This was one of the most fun sets I have ever done.  I was slotted to play at 11:00 on Friday at unSCruz on the indoor Luna mainstage.  I absolutely love the feeling of filling a dancefloor and I was incredibly nervous for thiss set for a couple of reasons.  I was going to be playing the same time an incredible DJ on the other indoor stage and I didn't know if I would have an audience, and also because my beautiful wife would be on the floor.  She is my biggest fan and also my toughest critic so I wanted to make sure she was dancing the whole time.  I ultimately had so much fun and the crowd was absolutely amazing, I could hear cheering over the monitors and my headphones!  The soundsystem, lights, lasers, and visuals were on point and everything came together perfectly.  I for sure had some glaring mistakes but, that happens sometimes when you’re having too much fun I guess

This set has been in development for a long time. Originally arranged for 2024 campout season, it was shelved for nearly a year. More tracks were acquired and integrated in 2025, abd a bunch that were originally in didn't make the final cut. I've been taking some time off from DJing while learning to play guitar and pursue other creative outlets, but I felt the inspiration to dust off the decks and finally get this set finished.
