Since their inaugural gig in 2008 supporting psychedelic luminaries Gong at Coorabell Hall, Byron Bay, Vasudha Harte and Jem Edwards have combined forces to create a sound that is diverse and intimately their own….sassy blue world tango gypsy punk jazz rock rap folk mojo….Dinkum Bohos in a saucy sonic tryst!

Musician, songstress and poet Vasudha freestyles with her adventurous velvet voice. Heart melting ballads and beautiful melodies collide with rollicking stories and political raps. "One can hear Australia’s own Ani Di Franco".

Guitar whisperer Jem plays stunt steel string, lush slide and effortlessly cascades on Spanish guitar, conveying mind blowing musical mastery and plays his own brand of sensitive and idiosyncratic drums. The pair continually swap instruments, swing moods and throw in dazzling four handers on piano.

“With an hilarious piano duet, Vasudha and Jem had four hands on the keys at the same time. The pair synchronized, tantalized and made athletic changes of position-all without missing a beat.”

In 2011 Dinkum Bohos toured internationally, playing festivals and venues throughout UK, Europe and Asia. The variety of stages they appeared on suggest their far-reaching appeal: folk, Buddhist, punk and world music. People literally came from miles around to hear them play in London, such is Jem’s musical reputation in the UK, and several punters declared Dinkum Bohos the best gig they’d been to in a long time.

These talented bohos continue to perform around Australia and their first CD "Stereognostic" was recorded live in Byron Bay.
