From co-founding influential party Toi Toi to a Fabric London residency, Voigtmann commands a loyal following that come to experience his long sets that seamlessly mix a wide range of electronic music with fierce intelligence and superb technical skills respected by Craig Richards, Ricardo Villalobos, Zip, Sonja Moonear among many others.

Voigtmann is also a renowned producer with previous releases for Subsequent, Assemble and Intermission. Life Miles is a big step up towards cementing a deserved place in the pantheon of electronic music artists that create albums of note.

Life Miles is a journey through the life and times of an artist who has toured the world and experienced the sights and sounds of diverse cultures along the way. ‘Pinfire’ and ‘Transitory Moments’ kick off proceedings with an energetic workout reminiscent of being totally locked-in on the floor of fabric while ‘North of the Sun’ takes a trip to desert landscapes on alien worlds. ‘Abundance’ shows off a keen sense of melodic understanding with intricate layers of synths woven together over a killer bass line and standout top line.

Voigtmann’s multifarious influences take shape with ‘Lowrider’ as the beats get broken down into expertly programmed breakbeats that smack and skip over dubbed out basslines.

The fourth release on the iconic Raval Spaceship label comes from French talent Janeret, known for his soul-stirring music.

This EP features four tracks that blend different sounds while maintaining Janeret's signature elegance. On side A, "Shadows" and "Celestial Harmonies" stand out with acid lines and pure house vibes, respectively. On the flip side, "Bliss" dives into a deep atmosphere while "Nuages" injects dynamism and energy into the EP with its breakbeat rhythms.

This week on the podcast, a mix from friend of the festival and celebrated Cartulis resident Junki Inoue. Born in Tokyo but living in London since 2012, Junki's been an avid record collector from an early-age. Few have bags as deep, something shown by this mix, which happens to be an hour section of his set from Dimensions 2022. It's testament to the timeless sound he's cultivated that you'd never tell.
