KIRIK was born in the south of Ukraine in 1985. He started listening to an electronic music when he was quite young. Later he did the experiment in creating his music , but it was like a hobby until 2007. And, after a while, he considered that it was time for a serious action.At the beginning of 2008, his passion rapidly became with burning desire to learn how to play and produce his music. KiRiK isa person with a great passion for a quality sound.His sound is constantly progressing and always strives to satisfy the crowd.This guy ,with his personal style , spacing from deep to tech, with powerful grooves , supported by the most biggest names of European Underground scene.

Feel What You Want

A few weeks ago ThatManMonkz was visiting Miami and we were lucky enough to book him for a gig at Bardot.

He runs his own label called Shadeleaf which has been putting out some serious track from the likes of Saine, FunkyJaws, ManMadeMusic, and Kon. 

Monkz manages to tread that fine line of simultaneously picking up props from all angles and wrecking dancefloors the world over whilst remaining resolutely underground and focused on the more interesting corners of dance music, so much so that RA have rightly stated that ‘Despite the pivotal part his hometown has played in electronic music history, you can't shake the feeling that if this were the work of some auteur from Detroit, Thatmanmonkz would receive much wider recognition from the house community.’

With remixes aplenty, and solo releases out shortly via D.O.G and Classic, much more from Shadeleaf, and an album due later in the year, '15 looks like it will be an even bigger one for this Steel City resident.

On this compilation, Portuguese producer C4STRO folds Brazilian classics into the language of contemporary club culture. Drawing from icons like Jorge Ben Jor, Marisa Monte, Rita Lee, Seu Jorge and Toco, the Lisbon-based artist reimagines MPB, samba-rock and bossa nova through deep, groove-led frameworks that feel equally at home on the terrace at dusk or deep in the after-hours.

These aren’t maximalist flips—they’re subtle acts of translation. C4STRO lets the emotional weight of the originals breathe while stitching them into a pulse-driven continuum. Jorge Ben Jor’s Magnólia gains a hypnotic low-end shuffle; Rita Lee’s Cobra slithers with funk and bite; Seu Jorge’s Sábado à Noite drifts like a late summer breeze. With Ramirezz, Marisa Monte’s Eu Sei becomes almost spectral, her vocal suspended in dubby atmospherics. Closing on Toco’s Meu Rio, the compilation dissolves into sun-washed celebration, tying Lisbon’s Atlantic perspective back to Rio’s coastline.

What makes the record stand out is its restraint. Rather than forcing Brazilian music into a rigid club template, C4STRO allows for softness, space and saudade. It’s a reminder that remix culture isn’t only about energy—it’s about dialogue. In the crosscurrent between Lisbon and Brazil, these tracks find new resonance, carving out a space that is as much about memory as it is about movement.
