Gimme A Break delve into new sonic territories through the first release on their sub-label Aspect, an outlet for Electro, Prog House, Trance and Techno. ASPCT001 sees Berlin-based LUZ1E navigate mental health and healing at the sonic intersection of Detroit, Chicago, New York and the UK. With previous releases on Voitax, International Chrome and Mechatronica, LUZ1E’s “Cerulean” EP cements her place as a pioneer of Electro retrofuturism. 

“Cerulean” takes its inspiration from the very hue that has ingrained itself as one of the symbolic images of LUZ1E’s work – a particular nuance of blue. It emanates a synchrony of sentiments: clarity, optimism, and calm, juxtaposed against the backdrop of detachment and despair that accompanied the artist throughout the past year.

Manifested in a dichotomy, the Ultramarine A-Side delves into the labyrinth of one's own mental health. It casts a luminescence upon a profound struggle marked by inner discord, turmoil, and the swift currents of overwhelm and emotional detachment. The tracks' fast pace and sombre energy pick up on this, translating phases of introspection and intense inner conflict into a sonorous narrative.

The Cerulean B-Side breathes the ambiance of a crystalline winter day, bathed in ease and tranquillity, constructing a bridge to an inward journey where in a quiet and soft space healing can take place. The tracks, suffused with both hope and melancholy, radiate a sense of peace, calm, and lucidity, contrasting the tumultuous phases of ebb and flow and the sensation of feeling lost. What persists is a mere feeling of peace with the perpetual motion of life itself.

Bruit Fantôme. C’est le nom qu’on donne à un acouphène. Ce sifflement parfois
incessant, qui survient sans qu’on s’y attende et dont l’origine semble mystérieuse. C’est
aussi le nom d’un énigmatique personnage né des séquenceurs d’un logiciel de MAO et
d’un amour pour le jazz sans repères.
Et bien que les rythmes de Bruit Fantôme soit d’une précision sans faille, l’esprit punk et les
éléments de surprise s’immiscent à chaque interstice de sa musique. À grands coups de
nappes synthwave peintes sur des kicks breakés ou de mélodies acid nébuleuses, il
transporte les auditeurs dans une faille spatio-temporelle direction les années 80 à Détroit.
Son nouvel EP Egypte Pyramide vient rendre un hommage vibrant à cette époque marquée
par des artistes tels que Egyptian Lover ou Drexciya, à la croisée d’une techno cybernétique
et d’une hypnose organique. A-Sim et Evenn viennent ajouter une nouvelle dimension à
l’ensemble avec leurs remix faisant le pont avec les club d’aujourd’hui.

“See the Light” by https://soundcloud.com/user-459020245  a triptyque cut, out to be the straightforward, grimy, clean, and uncluttered bass track the producer always seeks for when going for the uncompromisingly strong raw material.

The Concealed Club Manifesto project pays homage to the mid 2000s underground UK club music scene, an era of music which acts as well of inspiration and creativity for the Nouveau Monica, and has no doubt helped shaped his sound. For the French producer, the UK club scene holds a special allure and mystique, especially since he observed this phenomenon from afar, and was idealized as one of the most “pivotal” moments in underground club culture, making it seem intangible, hence concealed. Nouveau Monica’s sound palette is deeply rooted in the UK scene, which he combines with his own personal musical background. This mid 2000s UK club sound is what the producer defines as his “Golden Era” and the genres created during that time are the building blocks of the Concealed Club Manifesto EP.

Dionysian Mysteries is very happy to have Florida local Austen van der Bleek making some noise! All about supporting the local fam, and his mixes are dope!

Austen van der Bleek is a bit of an anomaly in the world of DJs. As an outsider with inside knowledge, his demeanor behind the decks is natural, but unexpected, and almost always met with bemusement. His young age certainly doesn't immediately give him away and he has no big city background to represent for or call his own, coming from the backwoods of Florida. It wasn't until one fateful summer in 2011, while studying and gaining work experience abroad in London, that he connected his lifelong passion for music with DJing, returning to university in Tallahassee to perfect the two.

Since then, he's had the honor of playing alongside artists such as King Britt, Kai Alce, Chris Mitchell, Alkalino, Michael Zucker, Manny Cuevas, and more as a resident at Open House Conspiracy in Orlando. He's largely known as a house DJ, but in the form's truest sense: as a style, not a genre. His ability to adjust for different settings and stages has also gained acknowledgements from the more commercially tipped scale, being hand picked by Chris Lake to open during his Rising tour and receiving the nod for one of Sasha’s Winter tour stops as well. He’s opened for acclaimed hip-hop DJ Tony Touch at an installment of his deep and soulful house focused Funkbox NYC parties, finding the right sound to warm up an eager crowd of B-boys and B-girls dancing in the cypher. His true school eclecticism has drawn attention from parties as diverse as Tampa’s Serious Soul and Orlando’s Lazy Afternoon as well as Suwannee festivals like Purple Hatter’s Ball and Electric Daisy Carnival Orlando's after party opening for Bunny, from Rabbit in the Moon. With a love for downtempo, funk, soul, and rare oddities he's also been sought out for laid-back, open air affairs at craft beer spots like Proof Brewing Company and Barley & Vine Biergarten.
