One of the top Afro House releases of the season, ‘Elementary’ is an exuberant collaboration between legendary Kenyan vocalist Idd Aziz and Zambian producer duo Kreative Nativez. Infusing the track with the spirit and rhythms of their homeland (including subte samples of a local elementary school), Kreative Nativez create a mesmerizing background for Aziz’s soaring vocals. 

One of the most celebrated artists on the scene, Aziz has released music on Black Coffee’s label, Lee Burridge’s taste-making All Day I Dream label, Berlin’s Exploited Records and Universal Music. He has performed all over the world, sharing stages with such luminaries as Angelique Kidjo and Youssou N’Dour and playing the Smithsonian Folklife Festival. Both acts were featured on the #1 charting Beatport Afro House album ‘New York State Of House’ last year.

Sometimes it seems almost effortlessly, how Rampa is not only detecting, but shaping the zeitgeist of clubsounds. The man has done it on various occasions. Not only that. In a no less unerring fashion he happens to find the best company to vocalize that very state of the art. It once again all comes together here on his „Les Gout“ EP. He’s teaming up with Chuala, a genre defying voice and brightly shining figure of all things contemporary, to lay down„Les Gout“, a track perfectly balancing groove, elegance and irresistible floor-appeal. In congenial addition, it also features features Keope on guitar. The tune already has become a much requested standout in Rampa’s sets, designated to become a standout in everybody else’s sets over the coming weeks and months.

Forget the club; enter the ceremony. Fértil Discos beckons you through a new portal, “Fértil Club,” a new series curated by DJ Nim through which the heartbeat of ancient South America meets the pulse of the future. The inaugural transmission arrives from Pawkarmayta, a solo project of Peruvian artist Anthony Paucarmayta. His album, “Aramu” (Serpent of the Andes), is a nine-track ceremonial voyage composed in C minor, a rich and expressive key known for creating music with a strong emotional impact, which can influence a listener's mood and state of mind. Crafted during the pandemic's silence, the work draws from Paucarmayta’s dedication to sound healing and his vast archive of Peru's auditory landscapes – forest winds, flowing water, and avian conversations collected over decades. Rooted in his classical training from Cusco, the music weaves ceremonial tradition with electronic minimalism, transforming field recordings into a potent medicine for the mind and a vessel for escape.

Premiered here, AWKA unfolds as a deep, percussive meditation anthem. A low, steady BPM anchors the atmosphere, over which soft, resonant vocal hooks emerge, enveloped by an ethereal, phantasmagoric layer of airy vocals that float like a spectral choir through the mix. The result is a profoundly hypnotic soundscape – a slow-burning fusion of rhythm and aura that feels both ancient and transcendent, embodying the album's ceremonial purpose through its serpentine, undulating flow.
