The powerful duo of Audiojack enter 2019 with a bang, returning to Crosstown Rebels once again. Delivering two distinct dancefloor tracks, their ​Inside My Head E​ P ​is set to make an impact across the globe.

Title track ​Inside My Head i​ s a deep and spellbinding production, woozy and enthralling with a pulsating beat and catchy vocal hook. On the flip, ​Behind The Curtain ​is a darker, more industrial affair with a gritty drum section and an enticing groove.

Audiojack explain that ​“‘Inside My Head’ was inspired by an old prog record from the 90s that used the same vocal. ‘Behind The Curtain’ is based around random noise generators and industrial sounds, which give it a very robotic feel. Then the distorted Wurlitzer piano comes in like a human rebellion against the machines and the track becomes a tete-a-tete between the two concepts”.

Audiojack ​began life over a decade ago on Ralph Lawson’s seminal imprint 20/20 Vision. Since then Underworld, Groove Armada and Hot Since 82 are among the artists who have enlisted them for remix duties. They began their own highly regarded imprint, Gruuv, more than eight years ago and the label has charted releases from ​artists including ​Emanuel Satie, David Mayer, Marc Romboy, Stimming and Joyce Muniz. The duo’s energetic DJ sets have seen them play in hundreds of cities in over sixty countries and they’ve also been nominated in the DJ Mag Best Of British Awards as well as recording a coveted Radio 1 Essential Mix.

Here we go with Keinemusik's newest release - it is already number 47 and going by the lovely title "Hand In Hand". Speaking of, let us just give you a hand real quick and elaborate on this. The label is actually turning ten years in 2019. That is ten years of quite a few buzz making records within the back catalogue, ten years of priceless memories on the road, in the studio or somewhere in-between and above all, ten years of doing things hand in hand. So therefore the release to celebrate the occasion simply needs to carry this name. The idea is pretty basic: everyone of the label's mainstays is handing in a tune. Rampa is starting things off on the A-side with "For This" - a collaborative effort together with Berlin born and London based singer Chiara Noriko. It is a track rich in contrast, laying down a roughly shaped foundation featuring a swirling bass and shimmering synthnotes, but then suddenly enriched by harmonies and topped off by Chiara's yearning croon. Safe to say, the rather emotively charged frames of a clubnight have been waiting for this. Then there's Reznik - up to this point being in the picture as the DJ only fella - chipping in "Schuhu's Groove". A cut that indeed delivers a good amount of grooving energy. And at the same time, a bright tune that's switching beat patterns and indulges in Neo-Disco- leanings and funked up synth arrangements. &ME is opening side B with "Fairchild" and yet another sophisticatedly laid out floor epiphany, showcasing his ability to shape monolithic yet soulful peaktime masterpieces. Here he introduces staccato synths on top of a stoic groove, that are being shrouded by a pending note and then ultimately enlightened by pads and an instantly infectious piano melody. And finally we find Adam Port on B2, pursuing his knack for lost African treasures. Once again he finds the source material in an old traditional by Quim Manuel O Espirito Santo. Port's edit of "Eme Lelu" seeks to update the original in some of the rhythmic patterns and create a whole new dramaturgic, floor tweaked build up, yet he leaves the original's cheer- and playful nature untouched. With the lead title cut, You Know, J Gabriel masterfully implements his minimalistic approach toward house music, painting an introspective and imaginative picture that inspires and moves. The magic is in the details, and on this one it’s all about the catchy bass-line and well-programmed chords, which create an inspirational vibe when paired with carefully selected spoken-word samples, embedded in classic deep house roots.

On the remix tip, Vincenzo steps up first; making use of You Know’s strongest elements, by utilizing the original bass-line and creating what he himself calls an “immersive” vibe. Deep, driving, melodic and perfectly arranged for maximum dancefloor effect, is this wonderful remix from Vincenzo.

Toronto-based house connoisseur Nick Holder then delves deep into his repertoire on his remix, turning in a lovely rendition of You Know; reminiscent of NYC-style underground house music, by donning the cap of his well-revered Trackheadz moniker.

The EP comes to a close with a perfect B-side, in What They Say. The vibes are thick, as J Gabriel shows his love of dubby atmospheric dancefloor cuts with this one, which should be well-suited for more underground and discerning DJs and dancefloors. "
