This is the first of ‘Three Singles’ from FFFACTS – a new group comprised of producers David Marston and Dan Izco, with Mirror Gazer on vocals.  

The three solo artists have joined together to collectively explore new stylistic territory together, through their shared appreciation of all different types of dance music, including classic House, UK Garage, Disco, and even Reggae Dub —mixing them all together in a blended collage of sound and genres. This first single, “Leave Me,” also has the benefit of an added touch of jazz via special guest, trumpet extraordinaire Aquiles Navarro (of Irreversible Entanglements and the International Anthem label).

Marvin Horsch, continues his sonic exploration w/ “Soundscapes Vol. 1 - Music for Harlequins,” journeying through baroque pastures and medieval acoustics to bring forth an aural palette of colorful, timeless arrangements that fit comfortably in the sonic pocket.

W/ lush and nuanced instrumentation all seamlessly melded together within Gianni’s groove-driven framework, the tracks on “Harlequins” present thematic moods that act as sonic windows into an enduring past. 

1st single is stupendous “L’arlecchino.” Thematic and groovy, the song skirts a line along folkloric jazz with an almost hip-hop bounce. Flutes, guitars and synths ebb along like a horse-ride through baroque pastures while the bass keeps you nodding along.

Straight off the success of his highly acclaimed release "Depth of Madness" (Paxico Records), we had the honors in having LA native,  jazz pianist, singer, songwriter and multiinstrumentalist, Moki Kawaguchi aka Lionmilk on for his SCR debut.  

Lionmilk is Moki Kawaguchi: 24-year-old jazz pianist, singer, songwriter and multi instrumentalist.  A native of Hollyweird, he takes after all its decaying glamour and peeling paints, contending with an aesthetic of deterioration. With his 3rd project DEPTHS OF MADNESS, he performs cathexis of his own crumbling mind, arranging sonic hallucinations, eviscerating time and dreaming through nimble keys, gleefully detached from waking life. Its narrative follows a quixotic maestro who wrestles with tangled feelings and bouts of longing. Dredges nightmares from the unknown and reaches toward infinities: the forever, the beyond, the blue. 

In the wake of chaos he also reminds us of all that he's lost in pursuing delirium to its ends. We find a soul caught between hope for recovery and the fear that it might never know a moment's repose. 

With a vastly eclectic musical vernacular he combines elements of oddball tropicalia, bossa jazz, blistering metal doom-scapes and melancholy stoner rock. Take the dive to reemerge in a heightened state of consciousness- this is a work that is euphoric, uncanny, intense and brilliant.

A Tribe Called Quest has been one of my longtime favourite hiphop crews, and this track always stood out for me because of the hazy atmosphere- they got the jazz indeed.

I tracked down the sampled original (it's Sonny Lester's version of  'Green Dolphin Street'), recreated the sampled bits & turned it into a slow burner in the style we know and love from Theo Parrish.
Sprinkled bits on top: some scratches, chorus & vocal snippets from the Tribe.

Dirg Gerner is a lover, a vulnerable observer, and an artist who’s managed to create an effective interface with an ever-accelerating world. Unintentionally off-grid and committed to his personal evolution, he is more of a soul- documentarian than a singer-songwriter.

The man is a natural born introvert. Over the years, his acute ability to hone in on the essence of things transformed into something of a super power – manifest through sound and poetry. This explains why this new body of songs is thick with nourishment. Lyrically, these songs channel the fundamentals: love and truth. Love remains supreme. Nature manifests the truth.
