For the 20th edition of our series we welcome @jamesboughton! Holding down monthly residencies at both Voices radio & and Komrad, London-based James has been carving a name for himself in the local scene, & more recently co-founding the @altered.perceptions party launching in the coming weeks. James’ contribution to the fuaim mix series is a powerful selection of psy infused prog-heaters that dance around the modern, techy sounds of todays psychedelic space.

This weeks Local Selection welcomes Sub Society to the series. Sub Society is made up of Dan Stritch (Kamorah), Jonathan Kaily (Kaily) and Eric Brown. Three Dublin based DJs, promoters and producers who all have one massive thing in common. An unrelenting passion for quality house music. Their festival debut as a trio that took place at BD Festival acts as their entry to the Local Selection Mix Series today. Dig in!

Although the most recent BD Festival that took place acted as the trios festival debut as Sub Society, all three members have accomplished some considerable feats in the industry as individuals over the years that span right across the music industry. Countless successful parties, playing home and abroad and releasing some fantastic music in the process.

We decided to sit down with Kamorah, Eric and Kaily to gain a deeper understanding of what Sub Society is all about and what house music means to them, among other things. The trio also decided to record their BD Festival performance and have utilised the recording as their entry to the Local Selection Mix Series, coming in at the 183rd edition, which can be heard below too.

How did the idea of sub society come about?

Kamorah – ‘We’ve played together loads of times throughout the years and each time the set has gone really well, we’re all on the same page and our styles compliment each other. Once we spoke about the opportunities and potential of the project it was a no brainer.’

After a lengthy hiatus, we’re excited to return our GoldCast series. First up is Naarm local, Gomery. 

Gomery has proven his prowess in mixing and track selection, not being defined by a single stylistic label. He meticulously curates a beautiful selection of sounds from across the globe spanning the genres of progressive house, trance and ethereal breaks.

Gomery's avid and constantly evolving affinity for electronic music allowing him to transcend and collaborate ideas with neighbouring artists. His most recent artistic endeavours helped to form Naarm-based rave collective Haptic, collaborating with artists such as DJ Ali, Neri J and DJ Spit, to name a few. With no signs of slowing down, Gomery is definitely an artist to keep an eye out for including his forthcoming debut LP in collaboration with Budg of Midnite Snack/Glitch Malta.

Cybernet is an intrinsically talented producer from Naarm (Melbourne), possessing an almost natural ability to craft soundscapes that fuse elements of Progressive Trance, 90's Goa and Breaks. Though he has tried his hand at a host of genres throughout his relatively short but productive career, he has found a passion in recent times within the Trance genre - drawing influence from the timeless productions of the 90's and 00's era.

Ranging from pulsing House to driving Techno in style, the co-founder of Wuppertal’s beloved Mauke Club honed his craft alongside some of the scene’s biggest names, before collaborating with Malugi both behind the decks and in the studio.
 
An integral part of the @clubheartbroken family, he knows how to work a crowd in true DCHM demeanor.
