The Asylum Monologues - Episode 01

One half of the The Sherifs ; the new wave of Euromerican influenced Asian singers/songwriters/producers & performers, Dirk James (Singer/Songwriter/Producer/Mixing engineer/Performer) has been playing in several diverse bands as a keyboardist/vocalist while growing up, giving him great experience in arrangements and writing, which is heard in many of The Sherifs' and his own productions. 

Producing and writing for over 7 years, he's credits include: co-producing and co-writing the "Funkmaster" Alston Koch's hit album "Don't Funk With Me" - The album debuted at no.43 on the ARIA charts and peaked at no. 16. As well as peaking on the ARIA Dance Charts at no. 2 for consecutive weeks held back by the official Ministry of Sounds album at the time.  He has also co-produced a number of songs for a number renowned artists in the local scene and the international arena. 

Always a lover of the art and with a desire to start learning and exposing himself to the lifestyle and trade, he snatched the opportunity to start DJ'in when The Sherifs decided to add the "performers/artists" tagline to their repertoire. And he instantly fell in love with it learning and crafting his art. Drawing on the experience of being a producer/keyboardist he occasionally infuses a "live" element to his performances to give his audience an ultimate dance floor experience.
